How far do you go to put yourself in-character?
whether it's in D&D, Skyrim or even RP-ing in general, how far into the character go you go?

I do say "Ow" when being shot in FPSs.

That depends entirely on which character I'm putting myself in.

1 ReplyIn Red Orchestra 2 i do many things to fit in as the generic Russian Infantry man in Stalingrad -When I'm in cover with a comrade and comrade get's shot or killed i tend to panic and stick to cover (While my in-game character "Fear" level is at top and i have a blurry screen" -fake sop of fear when everyone around me is dying by MG fire. -When clearing out buildings i throw a grenade then bayonet charge in then i feel bad after seeing facist blown to pieces by me -Cry out in pain when i'm shot in a vital organ and in chat i like to craw to a comrade telling him to end my suffering or to help me. -Vodka -Wear my soviet ushanka WHEN I'M A FACIST (Rarely) -Speak in full German -Act like i'm cold as balls

1 ReplyIn Skyrim? I play the Jaws theme when sneaking. When I zoom in to snipe someone, I hold my breath. When I play as an Argonian, I flail around underwater because I can't breathe underwater irl.

Usually when I'm playing race games I try to push in the clutch with my left foot and brake and accelerate.

I remember a guy in halo who panted when he was running, made noises when he jumped and would pretend to be out of breath. It was actually pretty funny.

1 ReplyNot too far, really, though I suppose one could argue that I have a certain "persona" I try to maintain in my online habits, which is worth mentioning with the proliferation of harsh and rude behavior many individuals have on the internet. I don't do much role playing with myself, not formally, but sometimes my friends and I will take on behaviors in public areas when we know it upsets people (acting like a male-male couple around an individual who is overtly homophobic); it's kinda funny.

1 ReplyHmm, I tried rping in WoW with a friend once. I'm pretty good at acting in character if I feel like it but it's really not my thing. I just enjoyed playing with her.
