Thanks for the mention :p I had an idea that I touched on briefly in another thread; what if what we see here is the product of some sort of Logo Creation Tool? As you can see in Deej's emblem, there would be a 7 by 7 grid of dots. You can toggle these dots to be black, white or invisible, for instance you can see that Deej has the outermost 3 dots of each corner invisible and his centre dot white. You can then apply this logo to your gun, it might also explain why we saw it in the character selection scene. As for the FOTC, could this be a four character service tag, the likes of which we have seen previously in ODST? Just a bit of wild speculation of course, but I think it would be cool to have a unified emblem across bungie.net, the game interface and in the actual gameworld itself. Edit: I forgot to mention, Hylebos, nice Paint skills :p

Actually, that could be a thing. Emblems on guns? It wouldn't neccessarily be modular like you described it with the dots, and while the character select screen was for Halcylon, he could be using the same emblem, or perhaps it's the emblem for their guild? The only thing that brings this bit of speculation into doubt in my mind would be this FOTC Private Group Theme, in the background you can sorta see one of the corner faces of the Octagon Symbol. But good thoughts. And yes, Paint is the only program that should be used for conspiracy scribbles.

  • Ah I wasn't too sure of the details of the FOTC, it appears they are linked to the lore of Destiny as you say. Your points pretty much debunk my speculation as a valid theory, but I do kind of like the idea of having more ways to represent your affiliations on your character models and weapons, which certainly fits in with the character investment and customization that Bungie are seeming to strive for.
