Why are some of the simplest of tunes the best?
Listen to the Mario theme or just about any VG OST espically Mario OST. Its incredibly simplistic but awesome.

1 ReplyIt's based on hypnosis. Certain patterns are better when they're repeated throughout, like in Aphex Twin's "Track 7" from [i]Selected Ambient Works Vol. II[/i]. I believe that it goes even deeper than that, however. For example, the sounds you decipher while in the womb can have a significant impact on what type of music you prefer.
