Put jetpacks in Destiny, I won't buy the game.
Jetpacks ruined the halo franchise.... please learn from this.

While I do think of the jetpack as a broken overpowered ability, especially in competitive multipayer. I don't think it's worth not buying a potentially fun game over. So while I don't think jetpacks can add anything positive to the experience, I'm not going to let one downside to a game prevent me from renting and/or buy it. If I did do that then I wouldn't be playing video games at all. besides, we have literally no proof one way or the other that jetpacks will be implemented at all in the game.

=/ I'm all for competitive gaming but Destiny should not be treated like it's Halo. Destiny is its own IP and as long as they can make something work in a nice and balanced way idc.

You're going to be majorly confused and upset when everyone is using space magic, classes, and enhanced weapons with names like "Fools End" if you're trying to balance and nerf Bungies new IP. Please try to put aside the culture of no and simply enjoy the adventure that Bungie is trying to create.

2 RepliesThis is assuming that Destiny will even be an arena shooter. At any rate, if the game is open world, I'd love to have a jetpack that functions somewhat like thruster packs at 300% movement speed. Just imagine, flying over an ever-expanding landscape. Combat would kinda be like a fighter sim, I guess...

Jetpacks were definitely a nightmare; the way they affected map control in competitive multiplayer was horrific to say the least. I definitely think I'd prefer something like the Thruster Pack from Halo 4 more, it gives you a short boost if you try to use it to jump, but it's much more useful for manuevering on the ground and its impact on map control isn't so dramatic. It's definitely not an issue that would cause one to not buy the game, but I do agree, as fun as they are, Jetpacks probably do more harm than good to Competitive Multiplayer :)
