ITT We talk about how Daryl is the best character on Walking Dead
Obviously, spoilers.

Dude's a badass. He's easily the most equipped character for a zombie apocalypse: he's a skilled hunter and tracker, meaning he can not only find food but he can move quietly through an environment; he uses appropriate weapons: crossbow, machete, and a knife, unlike other characters using guns when they know they have very little ammo; and he doesn't seem to get attached to anybody: even when he "lost" his brother he didn't really give a shit.
In the entire series, he's the only character that hasn't had some sappy soap-opera moment. When he and and his brother reunited, they got in a fight and then killed some zombies. No tears, no hugs, just zombie-asskicking.
If (let's be realistic here: when) he dies, I'm gonna ragequit the show. Discuss stuff now.

1 ReplyNot actually a fan of Daryl. It's not that I don't like him, I just don't think he is that special. I would actually like his brother more if it wasn't for the racism (Honestly don't believe he is truly racist, just knows how to get under the skin of people and use that to his advantage, plus he's drawn to aggression and chaos). I kind of like Glenn, Rick is okay, Carl's a little bitch (still), Michonne is a -blam!-, Beth is okay but too dramatic and innocent, Maggie is a -blam!-, Bob is my boy, Carol is absoultely -blam!-ing retarded, Tyreese is kind of a big pussy, those two dead blonde girls needed to die, uhh the rest of the characters are meh or okay.

Daryl is a badass. But probably not the best. I'd say that Rick is. Rick has a trust factor that is extremely smart. Before he recruits a new person, he asks the three questions. Which is, clever. I mean. What would you do if you were in Rick's situation? You have a whole group to moderate, and you have to make sure no one gets murdered.

To be honest, Rick is still the better character. Being that ive followed the comics since before the show, and knowing everything he has done, up even to the king with a tiger, he is still a one handed, hatchet wielding, horde killing, cannibal murdering, general of war. Daryl, as a show only character, is the best, after rick. Shit, in two seasons, carl will be more a badass, whipping out ambushes on a rival gang with an assualt rifle solo, and surviving a gunshot to the face, and torso.

Rick the obvious "good guy" had to learn that the codes he stood by in the real world (being a PO, helping people and all that jazz) dont really matter as much. Rick has really went through a roller coaster throughout the seasons. From him being alone (low) to finding that black guy (high) to finding the group (high) but finding out his best friend is the father AND finding the barn (high-low) Shane trying to kill him but instead him killing shane the barn being overrun and him having the general distrust of the group. (low-low-lower-hell) Finding the prison and taking it (high) Loosing his wife(Spiraling! Spiraling! Spiraling!) Then the Governor (equalizer to whatever hes going through. It honestly holds him where he is at neither good nor bad till it proves in the next episodes. ) Daryl is an important member but he doesn't make the group go.With the rise of Glenn of an actual character with balls and carl not always leaving the house and getting lost it makes Daryls worth a bit less. Everyone just likes to vote for the badass good guy. Instead of the person who has face the most adversity.

What is there to talk about it? It's not even debatable. Even if he wasn't the biggest badass on the show (he is), he would win by default because he's one of the very few characters who isn't a bitch or a retard. The only other people like that were Shane and Merle, but Shane happened to be crazy (he was still awesome) and Merle is an annoying racist. Thank god Rick is no longer a bitch, he's just slightly crazy now.

4 RepliesThe Walking Dead has gotten extremely boring lately. All Daryl does is shoot a few walkers, say a few lines, then that's it. Then we get to see more of the ever so exciting Andrea and her adventures in the interesting town of Woodbury.

i agree with you on this. also if you think about it, Daryl is also the most level-headed one on the show. he knows what to do and when to do and just gets stuff done.
