It can add more personalization to the forum browsing experience. It encourages a user to want to keep browsing the forums, and what makes the forums so great is the amount of great, funny and unique users we have here on B.net.
(and we should get preview post back :)

IMO it results in a graphically cluttered collage of "look at this and maybe you'll notice what I have to say" instead of a forum where the focus is "read what I have to say and if it inspired you to reply/rant/rage, then we've got a conversation on our hands".
-
1 ReplyI think we should have sigs. They should have a minimum of 8 flashing GIFs and should make no sense at all.
-
The box in your post is not for signatures.
-
We used to have sigs, (But no pictures) and a few people panicked when they got hidden. I honestly don't care anymore, though I wonder where my old one went when the new system rolled out.
-
3 RepliesI don't support the idea because of what you just put as your "upside down signature". I don't really feel like seeing a bunch of off topic pictures cluttering up threads.
-
1 ReplyI respectfully disagree. We had visible signatures 9/10 years ago and I'm glad they were removed. They're eye sores IMO. Having the forums clean cut is much better, you just get content from posts. If you want more information on a user, just click their profile name and BAM, more information instantly. But yes, the preview button needs to make a return, it just takes time.

I don't like the idea of subjecting everyone to some random photo/gif when the original purpose is to read your specific thoughts regarding the thread topic. It's imposing and can easily be disrespectful.
-
I strongly disagree. -and using that GIF to propose your idea isn't helpful. I would personally despise seeing things like that all over the thread. "Lets make everyone who sees my posts lust at a random girl!" No.
-
It may add more personalization, but it would looks very cluttered in threads. The site is very sleek right now, and I feel they would look out of place. I find that they're good where they are. If I want to know more about someone, I click their name, their sig and options to communicate appear. It's in a good place.

1 ReplyI think signatures would just look out of place on these forums.
