I'm a conservative atheist (weird right) and I'm not against helping people, but I do not want my money going to support people who sit on their asses and get high all day. I want it to go to people who truly deserve it

I don't think anyone supports funding people's laziness and abuse of the system.

That's why Obama said that Welfare is taking a hit along with everything else since Congress is sitting on their asses with a finger up their butt and doing nothing. And yet, I see Offtopic conservatives going apeshit about Welfare taking a hit. It's just a giant contradiction.

Exactly. I'm fine with helping people who live on the streets by having soup-kitchens and other things built. But seriously, how many people get a check in the mail from the government who don't need it? When I got laid off from my job, I could have filed for unemployment. But I didnt, want to know why? I'm only 18, and still live with my Mom, who can support me while I go to College. Not only that, but the government needs to investigate some of these claims for money, atleast demand proof for needing money. Otherwise anyone can send in a form and get paid.
