Now just think for a moment... this game does take place 700 years into the future when mankind's reach into the galaxy has (or was) as great as it has ever been. Do you not find it possible that there are friendly alien species which may play an integral part in Destiny's storyline?
With this in mind, how do you suppose Bungie should implement this into the game if there are more races? I think Skyrim did this beautifully with each race having its own set of definable features. We know that Bungie has let us play as Elites in Halo so it's not entirely out of character for them to do something like this.
Another interesting point that I would like to make is about the possibility of playing as a robot. Yes, that's right, A ROBOT. We've seen them in the ViDoc and although many people have claimed them to be AI, their walking patterns seem no different than the human characters. I think this would be a bold move for them to make and I really hope no one counts this out just yet.
Looking forward to hearing more about the customization options. Thanks Bungie.

They've already clarified that humans will be the only playable race in Destiny. What does this say for Destiny II, III or IV? About jack. It's completely possible we'll be able to play other races in future Destiny games, but don't expect it in the first installment.

3 RepliesI would find it interesting, but I think I am with the people who believe those robots were AI. Their walk looks a little scripted to me, and if I remember right, they are armed while the seemingly player characters are not.

Just like Halo, they'll probably save other playable races until Destiny 2, when we find out one or multiple factions of enemies are actually trying to save us from the evil overlord the Traveler. My bet is the Vex, kinda backwards terminator style. So hey, yeah maybe we will be robots! but not yet...

The whole game is based around being a guardian. I doubt they will allow any other playable races.
