This bug in particular is one small symptom of a huge problem, I reinstalled Destiny 2 with the sole purpose of getting a red crystal for the Praxic Blade. After nearly 90 invasions, fails and successes included, I have got no progress to this RNG-based reward. Every failure and success is just another reminder to go back into the brutal grind of a 30 minute mission to get a Deathmark that takes me to a mission that either fails to join and absorbs the Deathmark with a error code: Bat, or I win or lose after sweating bullets and either don’t get anything I would like, or I fail to be teleported to the reward room at all.
Deathmarks aren’t even guaranteed to drop after the thirty minute long missions, which makes this less than a grind and an actual job just to unlock something like a Red Crystal.
This frustration is shared by more than just myself, and this last bug has sparked a need for a response to this question; Why is the Red Crystal hidden behind a convoluted system of Random Chance?
Instead, there should be a system like ones already in the game of “Participate in (Activity)” with a percentage that builds up more with success, less with failure, but either way, engaging with the activity rewards progress towards what the player wants.
