It’s deadly dull, and on top of cantina glitches (can’t talk to drifter) and ‘welcome to the frontier’ glitches (no enemies spawning in, unable to restart quest as I already have abilities equipped… have to leave game, log back in etc)
I want to really like Destiny. I want it to entertain me, distract me, excite me. But this constant back and forth is just a waste of time. Sorry.

1 ReplyThe part that pisses me off is that we start with a cutscene of Drifter, then minutes later pick up a recording of Drifter, then after that read what Drifter is 'saying' to us. Rinse and repeat the talking and then reading for every character. Don;t get me wrong I'm an insatiable reader, I never have less than 4 books I'm reading daily. But having to read conversations with characters is sooooo pre-Y2K, cheap and miserable a continuity experience. If I want to read conversations I'll go back to the good old days of Wizardry and Zork!

1 Reply100% agree. The inconsistency on how you talk to the npcs and your team is so immersive killing. The story is bad, this is an over priced episode/season sadly. The villians are not compelling, theres no character growth just whining and running. The story would had more weight if the cabal villians were related to caitatl and challenged her directly. Also if the dregen wasnt some whiny wanabe but osiris or zavala both have lost and only use darkness powers. It would have been awesome. Aunor is a wasted character and could have easily been ikora. Or write bael and that other dude better. The cinematics were done well and some of the story quest were fun. But it could have been so much better.

1 Replybungie needs head out of sand. all fact , changing there stance would save the game. block heads need checked. Destiny 2 player counts have recently reached a new all-time low on Steam, and community discussions suggest that factors such as a lack of built-in matchmaking for high-level content like raids, overly complicated mechanics, bugs, and general player burnout are contributing factors. Player Count Details Record Lows: In late 2025, the game's concurrent player count on Steam fell to a new low, dipping as far down as approximately 6,000-8,000 concurrent players at one point. This is significantly lower than previous lows, including the much-criticized Curse of Osiris era. Recent Trend: The latest expansion, Renegades (December 2025), launched with the lowest peak player count for any expansion in the franchise's history, failing to beat even smaller "Episode" releases from earlier in the year. Platform Specifics: It is important to note that these specific low numbers are generally from Steam charts only. The total player base across all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, and PC) is estimated to be significantly higher, with a cumulative total of around 273,000 daily players across all platforms during one recent low period. Contributing Factors The decline is generally attributed to a combination of community frustration and specific game design choices: Lack of Matchmaking: Raids and other high-level activities require players to use external Looking For Group (LFG) tools or the in-game "Fireteam Finder" instead of automatic matchmaking. This social barrier can be a significant deterrent for many players. Overcomplicated Mechanics: The game has been criticized for introducing overly complex systems and a general grind that some players find unrewarding or confusing, pushing them away from engaging with the content.

1 ReplyOn the subject of glitches and bugs, does anyone else think it's a little strange that Bungie tell us in their TWIDS and other sources about known issues that seem to take weeks or months to fix, yet nothing is said about issues such as the loot cave, and the strange engram rewards bug from the homeless guy, which were patched withing the first 3 days of launch? And not forgetting the double silver bug that lasted a massive 25 minutes. They may have lost many staff, but they've kept at least one special person who deals with the really important issues.

6 RepliesAgreed, and know what else is nonsense? All this platform jumping crapola. Some of us stopped playing platformers years ago. And more nonsense is how everything is a puzzle, where you either have to spend an hour working out how to progress or spend an hour watching a u-choob walkthrough.

2 Replies100% Agree. And yet somenpeople are still defending it as part of the experience. Destiny started strong but then it completely went offtrack and became as so many 'game compqnies' a money grabbing machine at the cost of entertainment and commited gaming fans.... There should be a law against these kind of scams.

3 RepliesIt really is baffling just how many people are praising this campaign. When you're not running around talking to people, you're running Lawless Frontier activities so you get bored of them before you're allowed to play them normally.

Didn’t they acknowledge this was a problem a long time ago, or did I imagine that? Either way, crazy that it’s still a thing. -

Absolutely. It’s just unnecessary busy work designed to stretch it out.
