just an annoying chore, not immersive, not fun, just tedious beyond belief
why design this way?

2 Repliesbungies new gang hasn't figured out the fine line between player engagement and over the top not worth your time game play. timers, revives and nerf modifiers in end game only leads to less revenue . who evers running things could sure use some pointers.

7 RepliesAfter watching the Kackis ‘light sabre’ quest mission vid, my interest in enduring that quest instantly evaporated. Notwithstanding the fact that his two teammates were top tier streamers…finding FTF teammates is another level of ‘no thanks’ that just compounds the negatives. Am currently working my way through the campaign on normal mode, solo, on my T…and already, the bugs and glitches and ‘soft lock’ issues are grinding my gears. The Neomuna Overtuna vibe is strong with this update…and this old stormtrooper tortoise ain’t a fan. Also, not sure if the light sabre drops on normal mode…it should have been available in the no. 1 slot on the loot pass, imho. But it wasn’t…and now I don’t give a flying fig about it anymore. Oddly enough, the new Steam Game Cube caught my eye…as had Where Winds Meet / Arc Raiders…as I’ve been looking to switch over to PC for a while, whilst still using a controller. The thought to delete Destiny from my PS5 flashed across my mind, too…and it stuck! Steam’s game library is another thing, too…🤔 That is all. Klingons off the starboard bow…😈🖖

I thought it was really cool, especially the flipping of the world after the first encounter. The jumping puzzle was long but not really difficult. And encounter 1 was a cakewalk once you figured out how to spawn each relic type. The main boss was the only frustration point solo with a few issues surrounding the enemy respawn mechanic. - The boss deals a lot of damage, which is okay except for the lack of cover going up to the platforms. - The platforms don’t last long enough for the interaction time required to spawn the 2nd side. A lot of this could be fixed by just making the darkness interactables quicker

Honestly I rather have it be hard then throwing a timer in it idk why Bungie keep doing this to us by constantly adding timer to every higher difficulty making things more tedious then what it needs to be in which contributed more why ppl hated the portal especially if you are 540 and up This rose tinted glasses of outbreak and whisper mentality needs to go their current playerbase is dying and FFS life tokens been implemented in arena mode "WHY" This is why Revision Zero exotic missions will always be my favorite

Edited by Cooper: 12/4/2025 1:25:53 PMI thought it was fine, confusing to navigate because the areas are very samey so its alot of trial and error to figure out where to go rather than intuiting it. I got stuck in the hallway once you climbed the structure because I didnt look right and not the obvious symbols that seem to show where to go. (Screw you bungie). The encounter before though, was interesting being a balancing act of getting each orb to being in relatively the same state but intuiting that was entirely guess work. The boss just sucked specifically when your going on the platforms where he has a hitscan weapon it takes 4 seconds to switch the room and you only get 3.5 seconds on the thing itself and that's if your able to activate it properly as it was hyper sensitive and he just doesn't stop shooting you. Like the ideas but execution was pretty bad

I thought on balance it was good: -As jumping puzzles go, this one was just fine; I still hate that Bungie think that jumping puzzles need to be everywhere in a looter shooter, but at least this one isn't too bad if you know where the traps (and the apparently mandatory Taken Phalanx waiting for you on a ledge over a void) are. I like that there are shortcuts, and that we aren't loadout locked so crutching on Strand/Heat Rises doesn't hamstring the combat. -I loved the puzzles, especially the Pendulum. -The final boss fight is a problem; specifically the final quarter, and many other commenters before me have highlighted the issue (or been toxic -blam!- with the typical 'gIt GuD' useless additions that should be earning them forum timeouts....). Now, maybe it's because I am pretty decent at PvE in this game, but it didn't take me too long to get through that phase even on Solo Legendary (but I think part of that is because the game is slapping Solo operative on us in places, and this might be one of them); I found the play was Sniper Resist + 2x Solar Resists on my chest armour, and then going straight to the switch platform from whichever side is closer to the switch I need, but it was still turbo-unfun. I did a Timed Catalyst run with 2 randoms off one of the LFG Discords (because the in-game LFG is still an insult to LFG systems everywhere), and that made it so much less unfun, simply by there being 2 other targets for the boss to focus.

1 ReplySmh. It’s insanely easy.

I enjoyed it up until the final boss fight. I've solo'd it a few times now.
-
The mission was great....until the final encounter. Getting to the platform to summon the adds I needed and back off alive was VERY difficult. Even when I had 8 stacks of Frost Armor, the boss obliterated me most of the time. And the fact that the platform starts to disappear when you get on it just made it worse. I'm never going solo in that mission again.
-
The new mission is fun and easy AF. I did it on a gummy solo last night.
-
Edited by Why is this happening?: 12/5/2025 1:42:23 AMI really hope you're not bítching about the new mission.. because it's literally one of, if not the easiest we've ever had. Destiny might not be for you chief..

I personally enjoyed the exotic mission, my only issue with it is the final boss during his final quarter of health. I did it solo so I’ll speak on that. It’s absurdly difficult to do much when the boss straight up deletes. Bungie needs to at the very least add a long reload time on that boss so players can actually get on the platforms and change the enemy spawns. If it was hard on normal, I hate to see what that would look like on actual hard with a timer on top of that. I think the damage is fine, whatever we can always take cover but not having a reload means we cant almost never reach the platform without getting deleted. I know hunters can easily just go invis but titans and warlocks can barely do that without messing around with their builds.

3 RepliesJumping puzzle wasn't too bad. I felt the game did a good job nudging you where to go. My biggest issue was the boss encounter. Especially the part where you need to activate the switches up top. You have little to no cover, the platform disappears quickly, and the boss hits like a truck with a bottomless magazine. Doing this solo felt way too unfair.

Git gud.
-
I beat it solo twice on my warlock. It wasn't that bad, just the final phase of the final boss is annoying solo.

2 RepliesI hate jumping puzzles with a passion but this one wasn't too bad. Playing on legendary solo wasn't bad at all. The only issue was at the end where the boss is 1/4 health. Tried it multiple times. Stopped to review videos from content creators and tried different loadouts. Used swords to block to jump on the platforms, tried invisibility. Anything else I could think of. Spent hours stuck here. This nonsense right here is why people quit and leave this game. Seeing where a few call anyone out complaining about it noobs, blueberries, get gud and nonsense. I don't mind good challenges, but this is beyond. If those who complete it like to talk trash others who struggle with it to stroke their egos, it says a lot about their character (try assisting others struggling instead of trashing them). It's really simple, if a game is not enjoyable, folks quit and do other things. Driving players away with the studio's design decisions and other toxic player personalities will only lead to killing the game. No new revenue, people lose jobs, doors close, and toxic players have to go find another game to be toxic in. It's not rocket science.

11 RepliesThe boss is ridiculous I can't press switch as hes just sat there beaming me.

For once I can disagree....the Praxsis Blade Exotic mission was super fun. Me and a teammate went in and had no clue this was the Exotic mission until we realized there was nothing telling us where to go and we just had to figure it out and finding the passage ways and then figuring out the mechanics of it all. Sure it took awhile but getting the lightsaber at the end was totally worth it and not using a Content Creator Guide to do was even better.

Everything in this game is tedious now because streamers keep saying "durrrr the games not hard enough"
-
1 ReplyI don’t know I haven’t done the new one but, I for some reason like doing the exotic missions like Presage one of my favourites, just wish bungie would get rid of the timers for whisper and zero.
-
They've always been like that. Depending on how they design the actual jumping area itself, depends on how "bad" it is. To be honest with you though, it's just down to personal preference, lot of people love jumping areas, lots don't.
-
I'm eventually going to do it as I'm jumping back into the game since I left in March. I'll edit this to see if this is true or not.

1 ReplyThe blade is awesome, imo top exotic in destiny history

6 RepliesEdited by Dooodley: 12/4/2025 5:28:58 AMDon't get me wrong, I wasnt a fan either on the first run. And this shouldnt come as much of a spoiler but you are incentivized to run it again and when you do it's a much smoother and a MUCH quicker experience. And I would ask who even likes traverse sections, secrets and other BS but even if 99 % say that it's crap Bungie is just going to listen to that one guy who claims to like it anyway. If I got to design Destiny everything would be like that first Renegades mission, just a bunch of enemies and shooting.
