Marathon is a waste | Today is because of Bungie Leadership
Lol shocker that splitting focus on a game that no one is asking for blew up your ops and pm’s.
Again, who tf is asking for Marathon?
Your executives need axed, they are incompetent and mismanaged your staff and projects.
Final Shape should be this games baseline, you have had more time than 100% of studios to produce a great product and somehow manage to score a constant c+ on all aspects of your game.
Ex: 10 years of your player base begging for a degree of consistency in your PVP experience.
You have had an uncontested excellent game for a decade and still deliver mediocrity.
You have a goose that lays golden eggs and keep dropping and breaking the eggs.
Rising cost in dev is complete bs, you reuse assets like a recycling factory. You can't even make original gun models. Wage growth is stagnant. You charge 33% of the game's base price for one armor set. Also, assuming you have heard of AI?
Gaming greed is reaching its reckoning. Players are tired of mediocre, unfinished, lack of passion IP”s that are as shallow as the leaders that make them. What if you bought a mostly done new car, see how that doesn't work?
D2 has reached its end gents, enjoy getting vex milked for the meantime.

2 RepliesAgreed. I am not buying Marathon. Bungie did not learn from the Y1 experience that Destiny players are not necessarily Halo players. They will make the same discovery when they find that Destiny players are not extraction shooter players.

5 Repliesdidnt bungie had a private event for extraction shooter streamers, and everyone hated the alpha of the game ? im pretty sure that was the biggest slap of reality bungie had, they threw destiny under the buss for a game no one wanted, and now, the only thing that could maybe save destiny is Sony taking over and making a destiny 3, problem is, im not sure anyone would bite on that

Looking at how they mishandled this game for the last few years that was in plain sight said way more than enough, and catering to "content creators/streamers" really did make matters worse in a lot of the decisions they made for the game. Funny how none of them will ever take responsibility for their actions, not even upper management. Just pass the buck so they don't have to deal with it. Not this time "Bungie" because there is no one to bail you out of your mess anymore.

It wasn't because of their teams being split between marathon and destiny it was because they had even more smaller teams split for even more different games or other projects being done. Marathon is still being made, and destiny is still going to have stuff done, too. It's all the other smaller projects that they shot themselves in the foot with. If they had focused on just those 2 rather than a bunch of other smaller currently unnamed projects, they would have saved money and could have focused on finishing marathon sooner and bettering destiny. The main upside is that a majority of the Sony team will be making a Sony backed game of one of the smaller side projects they had started.

Im going to laugh really hard if marathon comes out after stealing resources from destiny for several years only for it to flop and be a complete waste of time
