What a Disaster!
Between what Bungie tells us is going to happen or is happening and what players post about what is happening to them, the Destiny that I I used to know and love to play is a complete disaster. I've bought everything from D1 vanilla to Lightfall, and I read how bad Lightfall was and still bought it, BIG MISTAKE! I'm not buying The Final Shape. After today's TWID why would I? I'm the average casual player. I've still got lots of things in the game to do and to keep me busy. But a game should be fun and exciting not a checklist of things to get done.Difficulty should be a choice a player makes not one imposed on them. All players should have reasonable expectation to get decent loot. Some grind is to be expected, over the top grinding NO! I could go on but why? I'll play what I have bought until either my console fails or the servers are shut down.
Oh yeah, Fallout New Vegas is great, as are The Borderlands and Bioshock games. The old Halo games are wonderful for a nostalgic rerun. No more "new" Destiny as it has failed the grade.
EDIT: ONSLAUGHT: most BRAVE weapon drops have horrible perk combos and are not worth keeping even if some of them are SHINY! And we have had horde mode in Gambit and in Blind Well! Onslaught is a variation with slightly different mechanics. Went into and out of Pantheon very quickly, not worth the time even if the loot is great.

Instead of fun they have mechanisms meant to keep you addicted with meaningless grinds and checklist items like weekly/daily bounties/challenges all to keep you logging in to look at the in game store. Sure they start out fun but after awhile the repetition starts to show and gets boring and since bungie doesn’t change up the formula it got stale fast.

2 RepliesI don't know where this developer got the idea that "if we make the game more difficult in just about every aspect, control the people on what to use and how to play, more people will want to play". There is nothing wrong with making a game difficult, it's just when a developer goes out of your way to specifically make it difficult using all the wrong reasons it becomes a huge problem. Don't take my word for it, look at all the carrots they tried to use these last few months to get people to come back that isn't working as they planned.

I agree with everything you said! Making the game more difficult is easier for them than actually finding new innovating ways to make the game more fun. They're jus basically saying.. WE DON"T CARE WHAT PLAYERS WANT. Most activities are now insanely difficult and are really discouraging and frustrating....not worth doing them. Lots of content creators are saying that Bungie is really cooking now...Cooking what? A bunch of old weapons that are not different or better than weapons we already have in the game! Onslaught weapons are not better than any other weapons in the game...other weapons are actually better then onslaught weapons..Onslaught is just an insane grind for mediocre weapons. Nothing but a waste of time if you ask me.

Yeah. I played all day again today with basically nothing to show for it. The RNG is fine, when I mix other games in. But the game punishes you for playing more. It has in my experience and that of others Ive asked. Its like the game knows when youre grinding only 1 activity all day and punishes you. And then when I dont play , and play other games. Then I log in for a casual Normal run and get 1-2 shinies every time. So yeah, in the end this BRAVE event has shown me the value of playing less Destiny 2. As has it for you, and we can be glad that it did. Because with the “slap some random subclasses together and call it new” and the unsunsetting of guns Im glad I didnt pre-order. This event solidifies that decision, and on top of that all The Final Shape guns will be miles better than these weapons. Because it is The Final Sale. And they wanna make bank on that. There is no way in hell the coming weapons won’t be massively better and cooler than these free dlc guns.

Now there is only really grinding for random drops. Remember when people used to try to get their power level up for activities like IB and Trials and Raids and... the rest of the game? I don't feel like doing it anymore either, but still. Everything eventually became about the gambling. Even in that one part of the game that people play precisely to get away from the gambling. Also... the bigger the blob the bigger the skill! "That blob bigger than that blob! Skill!"

5 RepliesThe game is huge wreck! I will not be spending money on TFS and will tell everyone I know in every way to avoid D2. They lost the idea that the game should be first and foremost fun and engaging. The average player does not have and will never have the the latest damage meta for PVE or PVP. They can't do the most basic content past story missions strikes and PVP. Nothing endgame, and Bungie could care less. Bungie dev: "too bad, so sad for you!, we could care less you do not have fun anymore, oh by the way come back we are reverting sunetting" Yada, yada, yada..... Reissuing weapons no longer available, mostly with BAD perks..... yada, yada, yada .... raid pantheon with a time limit for the best of the best of the best, yada, yada, yada..... [u][b]Too much do it our way or get out mentality in the dev team![/b][/u]

I got Lightfall in this last sale with PSN thanks to a friend who begged me to come back. I honestly can't be bothered to play the seasons that I know will be removed in less than a month. I'll get my discounted "finale" to the Light and Darkness storyline and them I'm out. Definitely not buying anything to do with the "totally not seasons repackaged with a different name" Episodes. Games an honest joke. But damn if the gunplay STILL isn't the BEST feeling FPS on market. Imagine having that and still managing to squander it. Bungie corporate should be an excellent case study on how you don't have to be smart to work in corporate.

The thing about difficulty being imposed on people I'm not sure what you mean by, could you clarify a little what you mean here specifically?

3 Replies10 years destiny has been around ! It’s been a mess for a while now but amazing how so many people keep playing and a lot ! It’s wild that anybody just plays destiny and nothing else . Pvp is a great example , it’s a mess , last night played 6 games , spawned into 3 losing games , 2 mercies and one decent game then I dipped . Just can’t. Do it to myself to play more . Again wild at the people who play control 24/7 …you know who you are …..put up with h so much ms but keep persisting. Will be interesting when marathon finally drops 🤷🏼♂️
