The shader itself shades horribly with weapons and armor, even looking purple and green with some armor. Twilight keepsake is a much better all-black shader than Superblack.

I don’t see myself ever using it on weapons honestly. I like my weapons to have the color of the element they are, and for kinetics I have a few neutral favorite shaders. I’ve been using Superblack for armor because it’s new but ultimately I like to match my armor with the element color as well. Though with Superblack it has been fun to find armor with effects of the color of the sub element that don’t shade. My Strand Hunter used the Crota armor because the hive tendril things stay green but then the rest of the armor is black.

It’s because you’re racist!
-
I just can’t stand worn shaders that make our weapons and armor look like they were plucked out of Fallout’s Capital Wasteland.
-
Yeah it's not great on most armor in the game.
-
*Laughs in Bungie*

What armor looks purple or green? I haven’t experienced that in any armor I have. I’ll give you a tip though. My helmet for example had a black shader but white glow. Since Im using the superblack on my void build, I changed the helmet superblack shader for the amethyst veil and it looks perfect. My point is there are other black shaders you can pair superblack with to get exactly what you want.
-
How do you get the shader?
-
I never understood the hype behind super black, I mean it was okay in d1 I guess but having all black doesn't do it..for me at least. More of. Aglowing shader type player and really they should've just made it Queen's Web or Glowhoo. I mean we technically already have Queen's Web with Ego Malign so at least make ot Glowhoo.
-
I actually like the worn-down look Superblack puts on my character'a armor and weapons. It makes them look like they've been used a lot, which they have. It reminds me of how a lot of stuff looked in D1. I don't like it when everything is overly shiny, glossy, and smooth.
-
You just can't please everyone.... Good thing you can match up gear w/ Super Black using Erebos Glance, Skele-Ghaul, Rustberry, Amethyst Veil, Metro Shift, & DO Res, etc etc.
-
Everything I've put this shader on turns black, armor, weapons, ghosts etc, so I have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about.
-
Virgin Twilight keepsake vs Chad Amethyst veil.
-
Was not that hyped over a black shader when already have some I don't even use honestly it should have been a Taken shader
-
Giga Chad Calus Treasured vs Virgin Superblack

I think it's the best shader in the game. You sure it's not your tv or monitor?
-
I like it
-
Feels deliberate don't it, they hyped up that shader but it's @$$ they hyped up those guns too but they're all kind of subpar at best and they hyped up that raid crap too but its only really for try hards. Feels like a lot of into the light was made specifically as nostalgic bait for vets to stick around for final shape. But just like everything else its all mediocre trash that's only really just another excuse to keep people playing for subpar loot. What a waste of time, I bet prismatic will also be mediocre too.
-
Maybe. Check your monitor settings.
-
If you want everything to be black then turn of your tv or monitor and watch the black screen. And when everyone wants all white then it turns out to be light grey or light yellow so nothing is actually good nowadays.

You know what else sucks? This post -
Superblack? More like Supercringe. So long to fashion design and creativity!
-
Treason talk the shader is magnificent
-
Hmmmm, I love it personally and have slapped it all over just about everything.
-
Yup I been waiting years for its return. It should look how the FOTL memento looks. Straight matte black no other BS. It’s like a generic version of the D1 shader.
-
It's ok if you like that look personally I prefer brighter colours like a nice new monarchy red or gold and purple
-
This post sucks. Grown men crying over a shader in a video game with players who haven’t played in over a year chiming in lol. Sad on every level.
