Obviously they can mix and match, but which one do you think is the best method?
[spoiler]I like the special ammo meter — I just think it needs to be a little more generous.
I’m not so keen on pick up bricks because they encourage snowballing.
I don’t mind ammo crates. They can provide a mini objective and encourage players to different areas of the maps.
Respawning with a small amount is probably my least favourite. It feels cheap and encourages trading kills.
Starting the match with a large amount is probably my favourite. It’s up to players to ration their supply as they see fit.[/spoiler]

Whatever is active in Control right now worked fine for me earlier this morning.

None, use a real gun instead. I miss the primary 1v1 duels that we had in early D1. As obnoxious as it was at the time, the Exotic Hand Cannon meta was infinitely more enjoyable than any of the special weapon metas that came after it.

special meter is the way, i will say that assist should give 0 points to the meter and kills should give half at least in comp/ trials. This week even with a good map and a good reward i will not touch trials with that stupid free special system, next week i will give a try

Ammo crate It's harder to exploit... isn't impacted by networking issues, allows the devs to tune ammo drops to individual weapons. It allows for greater primary viability, and forces players to fight for special ammo wherever the ammo crates spawn... kinda' like zones, like defending heavy... It allows for a greater range of loadout viability, as someone... a team that wants to primary duel... can force those conditions by taking the advantage or initiative. It's "active"... not "passive" in earning your special ammo.

The og special way was 1000% better than any other dumb ways to get special.

I like the special ammo meter. I do agree with you, that it should be a little more generous. I also like that you start with two kills worth of ammo. I like that when you get killed, you are not automatically dropping a brick for someone else, typically an enemy player, to pick up. It also works well that your meter stays where it is when you get killed.

Maybe there should be bricks with one round, a special bar that charges partially from the bricks, and periodic boxes just in case you like to roam around on your own. Then... can "it" come back?
