You just need to login to the PlayStation and play. Bungie.net features are not really needed to play the game. You may want to link your PSN to your current profile or create one of its own if you wish to use apps like DIM for the account, but it is not required for game play.

Thanks for the information, ye I kinda wanted to use DIM and the limited D1 API features that are still available. At least I know I'm not going end up screwing up my D2 if I just link my PSN to my account.
