Champions and bullet sponges. Massive L. Garbage looking activity and 3 man. Zero hype boring design. More of the same garbage bungie design isn’t going to get those preorder numbers up. Studio is cooked.

it's free
In which universe is content free in a live service game? I don't get it, what's the actual thought process here, joe woke up happy and decided he'll personally fund onslaught for d2 players?

4 RepliesReused map? Check Reused mechanics? Check. Reused rogue like currency? Check. Reused commentary? Check. Way to derail that hype train immediately after leaving the station Bungie.

4 RepliesYou’re not supposed to enjoy Destiny content, you’re supposed to do it a lot.

1 ReplyAs long as the weapons are good and the rolls are sweet, Nobody will care what the activity is as long as it's accessible.. This is not DLC this is 2 month free filler.. Stop hating. Just to hate..

8 RepliesThis forum is hilarious! The utter outrage at being given free stuff 🤣🤣🤣 Its like a fat kid complaining the free ice cream they got is not super sized with sprinkles.

Nah it looks fine. You’ll play. Oh how you’ll play.

Like most of the content made in recent years it Onslaught was made for streamers and YouTube creators to push "meta bs" and give this garbage some visibility. Don't expect BUNGIE to give us anything unless it translates in some sort of artificial visibility through the shills on YT and Twitch.

3 RepliesEven the guy who apparently made the activity or atleast took part in it and then playtested almost fell asleep. If it wasnt that sad, it would have been such a great comedic experience really. Imagine the laughing crowd audio from older comedy shows playing every 15 seconds. Would have fit perfectly. Like yea yea we get it Bungie white knights, its free blablabla. Guess what else is free. Warframe, Fortnite, Cod BR, PUBG, league, path of exile, tons and tons of other high quality games with CONSTANT quality FREE updates. This game on the other hand has an even more oppressive cash shop than these entirely FREE games i listed while it asks for 100 bucks annualy to play anything outside of the free trial they offer. So nah, it being free is no excuse to this comedic recycle fiesta that was shown. I've literally turned my brain off after listening to the uninspired devs talking about that reissued pvp map with mobs we've been fighting for 10 years in it spawning in waves. They clearly didnt like that trash either but were probably forced to sell it to us cause noone else volunteered. How can anyone with a sane mind be hyped after that? Like even tetris, a game from the 90's with the most simplistic gameplay loop looks more exciting than that garbage they presented to us. Sorry, not sorry.

2 RepliesI've never seen the word horde coming up once for the past 3 years until reddit told me "the community" asked for onslaught

9 RepliesEdited by SuperKingzach12: 3/19/2024 11:04:17 PMUsing a crucible map as an pve activity like seriously like should had been creative use a new area but doing that is a huge L bungie thinks into light is going to get pre orders up all I seen in stream chat is recycling content and Ls

1 ReplyAnd then you guys wonder why Bungie wants nothing to do with communication between you guys and the Devs.
-
2 RepliesIts like Reckoning T3 but with waves and Black Armory Forges, and of course champions since bungie only knows how to make champions and boss stomps instead of mobile mini bosses with unique attacks, if in doubt bullet-sponge out. This is some cheap filler content but it won't help player retention with the season being completed and no new filler-season or story. Some players will still get bored and leave and many won't understand or like a hoard mode, I just want the new guns. 3 months still to the DLC, player count is likely still on a decline, and if Final Shape doesn't meet player expectations its going to drop significantly, I don't think the episode stories would save it, but maybe Sony can step in.

4 RepliesYou know what gets me, the actual mechanics. How is it that killing an add with a "battery" heals the (whatever it's called) and why on earth are these adds carrying them anyway. And if they get to the (whatever it's called) why do they do damage to it when they are carrying the battery? Like WOT? 🤔 Makes zero sense.

Champs are nothing dude. NOTHING

Champions and bullet sponges. Massive L. Garbage looking activity and 3 man. Zero hype boring design. More of the same garbage bungie design isn’t going to get those preorder numbers up. Studio is cooked.
Why couldn’t they make it a six man activity? Geez…

It's actually the one place I accept these things tbh. I'd rather it be in a horde mode than a raid or dungeon where we expect difficult mechanics.

Edited by Phantom139: 3/20/2024 8:08:57 PMI have been pretty adamant all year on how power deltas on everything has been fairly destructive to the replayability of the game and sure, things are not going great right now. That being said, I do think there are some places in the game where it does make perfect sense for that kind of a challenge to be in place (The coil is one place that I feel does it right), and a continual horde mode is one such place where I think this kind of a system is ok as a "short-term" difficulty. I have been wanting a Champions 2.0 for quite some time where stunning is "encouraged" but not required. Things like Tormentors and Lucent Hive have been a great shake up to the standard stock of enemies. I think if Bungie took the time to remove the things that were aggravating about champions (e.g., Health Regeneration, Refusing Stuns after Cooldowns, Servitor Shielding) they really wouldn't be all that bad. Perhaps even spend some time to add new categories of champions now and then that follow this new paradigm to keep things interesting. Longer term, what I think Bungie should do is remove power deltas and adopt Helldiver's difficulty paradigm, where higher difficulties introduce tougher enemies that shake up the manner of engagement, alongside larger crowds which keep the action going, without touching the player's power level or the damage the existing enemies deal to you; Now sure, Champions do this to some level, but read above regarding aggravating points. Beyond that, the existing modifiers in place (Surges / Threats / Overcharges) could then be used to shake up a player's loadout choices from season to season without making the game completely tedious.

Then don’t play it. Deep dive is basically the same thing abd i had a lot of fun with that. I’ll be playing it and I guess you just won’t get a midnight coup
