Destiny 2 could use a proper AllChat option? (Also, Profanity Filter Broken.)

Yes, I agree.

Maybe, but it could be bad.

I like the current options, but they need work.

No, I disagree.

Give me allchat, I hunger for reactions!

Why is there no all-lobby voice or text chat? Allchat is something this game has been missing for 10 years, and its kinda silly that the only allchat we even get close to is in pve or destinations via the 'local' setting. Allchat enables players to get together more easily. I feel like the lack of an allchat makes the game lonelier, and forces that loneliness because no matter what you do, you cannot communicate with a player who has opted out of both voice and text chat. There is no comms-wheel so that you can tell your team to "Go Left" or "I need Healing!" I have had players join my team with zero to no communication that you cannot tell to "not touch that or we will all die and wipe". Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to watch them do it over and over again and be entirely helpless to stop it? Allchat has been proven across multiple games to bring players together and make memorable experiences. If anything, I would say games with allchat as a feature are worth my time more than Destiny 2 in its current state. (I am looking forward to the new updates and final shape, I promise, but yall gotta know by now this game is on thin ice with the community.) On that note, why is there a profanity filter but no Allchat? Why have one without the other? As already mentioned, if you are really worried about toxicity being an issue you can opt out of chats entirely, making the profanity filter literally useless anyways. . . . Here's the other half of my post that correlates to the above sentence: The Profanity Filter does not work as obviously intended. Despite the filter being turned OFF, I still can't say (or see) things that do not warrant censorship. The filter censors entire sentences even if the words censored are not profanity. As in the example picture below that I did for testing purposes, I said s*** and d*** with no filtering, but it censors F***? It also censored "Kill that f***ing dude" with "#### #### ####### dude." https://i.imgur.com/QnVDVlW.png Why? It makes no sense to censor in this manner, especially with how inconsistent it is at actually detecting REAL profanity. Here is a fun example: If you see someone in pvp with a Jade Rabbit and a Chinese username, you cannot say to your team "somebody kill the chinese dude with jade rabbit" or it will censor it as "somebody #### ### ####### #### with jade rabbit." How the heck else am I supposed to say who it is? There is no possible way this is hate speech, I am not advocating against his race, and with context I am quite obviously trying to ask my team to help me with a problem enemy team member. I am not about to learn chinese just because there are three different warlocks with jade rabbits in the lobby, and I am definitely not taking time to describe the dudes multicolored Gucci outfit. Yes, there's the "or you could just not say anything" option, but unlike whoever would suggest this opinion, I don't like to lose games over things I can control. I am very frustrated because this issue and others like it are affecting my communications with my fireteams (in pve as well as pvp) that I regularly play with, some of whom cannot play with VC on due to family. When chatting with them, I cannot express myself and say "This is f***ing frustrating" or "Lets get this f***ing win!" without having to retype my sentence again. Am I the only one bothered by a broken censor? I feel like I should be able to say what I want and see what I want. What is the point of having a filter with an off button if it can't be turned off? On another note, I am gonna devils rui- advocate for the toxic side of allchat and freedom of speech. I am a hardcore PVP player who spent years in Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike and I WANT to hear/see the enemy getting mad at my streaks. Yes, I WANT TO HEAR THAT, I actively enjoy it. I am tired of people flaming me in DMs instead of getting up close and personal to call me a coward themselves. It makes me giddy and happy to know that my shots were so well placed that the enemy got mad enough to flame. I want an allchat that I can listen to or watch, and I don't think it is at all ridiculous to desire such. If it was, people wouldn't upload videos to youtube with titles like "My destiny 2 telesto gameplay (with streamer reactions!)" Thank you for your time, and please be respectful in the comments.
(And before some goody two shoes comes in here and says "heh, well people shouldnt be flaming you, that's why there is a report option!" Go take a long hard look in the mirror at the nerd emoji staring back, then come 1v1 me in original MW2, Rust map, Xbox360.)

Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate.
