You know what really needs a buff?
Vortex Nova bomb. Ask yourself, when’s the last time this super has been worth using over Slova bomb in either PvE or PvP? Destiny 1 maybe? It does less damage overall than Slova bomb and it’s way easier to miss out on damage because you have to actually aim it and most of the time bosses just walk out of the vortex. For the crucible side of things it doesn’t even do enough damage to 1 shot guardians in the outer damage ranges.
My suggestion would be a slight buff in damage (so it’s slightly higher than Slova) and the vortex itself providing some sort of slow or weaken so enemies can’t just walk out of the black hole and if they do they’re more prone to damage. Could also buff the size of the black hole or the duration of it because as of now it just feels like an extra grenade. All of this is coming from a voidlock main who longs for the days of his vortex nova bomb actually meaning something.

1 ReplyIt would benefit Vortex greatly if we could launch it like Lance from D1: fast activation, incredible velocity and fires in a straight line. Add Lance and Vortex together with a Weakening effect and it would be much better.

1 ReplyReally annoying how bosses can just ignore some aspects of abilities. They can easily walk out of vortex and tethers, aren't affected by suspend, blinding, or freezing.

It was basically a big bang attack from vegeta and it was awesome. Now imagine a lance nova bomb with the vortex effect? It would not only be one of the highest dps in pve due to increased impact damage but it would also be insanely good in pvp when cross mapping players with that thing.

1 ReplyI stopped using slova bomb awhile back when I had realized it apparently only takes two shots to kill it. Match after match I'd toss one out and watch this happen, so I switched to regular Nova Bomb. I wouldn't mind what you mentioned. When you hit, its good, but it basically has to be directly on their head. There really is no reach for that thing with the vortex, and it is too easy to escape for a super. It needs some attention.

I just want my Nova to stop killing me if I have an object behind me or close to the right! Im a voidlock main as well, been since D1. Vortex needs a buff in speed (like Lance), but also in damage. Cataclysm needs more damage too! Theyre both pretty pathetic in that department. The only time Nova was good was in Warmind, and that was primarily because Tractor Cannon only debuffed enemies to void damage!

There is nothing more disappointing than encountering another guardian mid-super right in front of your face, releasing a nova bomb, and watching it sail right by them before they kill you. Also, there is nothing more pathetic than a solar hunter blowing away your entire cataclysm in one shot and having 5 more to back it up.

the 3 supers of the void hunters are just as useless in pvp as in pve I find, a bit the same for the warlock indeed, the normal nova is very effective in pvp but useless in pve -

I do believe in higher level content warlocks are either on well duty or in the case of dps being very important, weavewalker got the dps mostly covered. Void supers if one were to use them, cataclysm is just better. Well duty mostly overshadows warlocks in general

Weaken for Cataclysm, Volatile for Vortex. That would give both of them a hefty damage boost.

2 RepliesWarlocks have never been good at burst dps with a super, the original reason given to us is because warlocks are meant to be support. Then they gave extremely easy access to healing, and devour to everyone while taking away our over-shield and granting titans a mobile well. So now warlocks are just bad at everything. Such fun Much wow
