This is the most tone-deaf nerfs I’ve ever seen, this exotic is far from top-tier, it’s one of the few exotics that Hunters have that are actually FUN to use. And not only is Bungie nerfing it in PvE because it’s strong in PvP, they are straight up DELETING it from the game. This exotic is going to see borderline no playtime after this nerf. The exotics entire strength was spamming grenades on tanky enemies, dealing honestly really good damage. It wasn’t so strong it needed a nerf, as in harder content the enemy would likely just melt you down faster than you can combo more than 2 grenades off. Now they want you to use tripmine grenades for add clear. Really? Why would you run a precision grenade for add clear when you can run incendiary, Solar, swarm, AND free up an exotic slot?
This is the most idiotic nerf I’ve seen in a while. They could easily make it so it only procs on guardian kills in PvP, but they are simply too lazy. Good job Bungie. Can’t wait for our next exotic to be another extremely niche exotic like Triton Vice!

4 RepliesEdited by CORPERATE COMMANDER: 10/6/2023 8:40:58 AMThis is why players need to stop playing and funding a company that makes decisions based on the top 0.01 percent because they are the addicted whale's that can be milked by bungie let the 0.01 percent keep this game, bungie will be forced to act when they only have 5k players in total wish more players would see the light a f this company off before this type of game developing becomes the norm widely in the gaming industry ie unfinished content ,reskins, buggy game, predatory marketing, will fix anyghing that helps player but not bugs that effect player for eaxmple the hunter trials chest piece transmog , allows adapters in comp pvp an lastly the increase in price and in total cost over 300 to play today if you buy all content. (THIS TYPE OF MENTALITY FROM GAME DEVS NEED TO STOP BEFORE IT BECOMES A TREND TO NEVER OVER DELIVER in all live servive games in the future since bungie got away with it for so long!!!)

2 RepliesThey nerfed stompees for pvp, then the players made the switch to spine exotic, now it’s also getting nerfed. What will be nerf next?
-
The energy generation for Young Ahamkara's Spine is currently unparalleled. If you are good at killing enemies with your Abilities, it will still be a strong Exotic after the changes. The change just means the gameplay loop doesn't come for free. Honestly, were you even good at using it if simply changing the energy gain to be on kills "ruins" the Exotic for you?

Edited by Randtsy: 10/6/2023 8:14:21 PMHonestly. This “adjustment” that Bungie claimed and no mention that this will carry on PvE makes me wish that PvP in Destiny in whole shouldn’t exist and just be a PvE only focused game or just disable current exotics till they figure out to separate from the sandbox. But if Bungie really want hunter mains to use other solar exotics like Athrys’s Embrace and Caliban’s Hand(which should’ve been buff, so they can be “more in line“) and adapt. Well, they got what they wanted. And if they going ask why YAS is the least used exotic for solar hunters. Because In really it feels like a nerf for PvE than just an adjustment.

Edited by Rainbine 9545: 10/6/2023 7:54:23 PMNot to mention that it’s going to be overshadowed by calibans hand, since If you build around it you basically don’t need your guns unless it’s a bit tanker Since one proximity knife can kill most red bars and cause an ignition and you can put on some of the benefits for ignition give it larger area of affect Let it spread scorch, which you can also put gives grenade energy and ability energy and so much more for just one knife kill I’ll name the fragments that just ruins any chance for YAS to have a chance in pve now Ember of char = scortches on ignitions (one melee kill) Ember of blistering = grenade energy (one melee kill) Ember of ashes = more scorch on a target (one melee kill) Ember of eruption = increase area of effect of ignitions (one melee kill) And ember of torches = radiant on melee hit (one melee) See the problem here?

I wonder which streamer started complaining about YAS.

1 ReplyEdited by Kiro - 13: 10/5/2023 9:49:27 PMBut Bungie claimed to be a competent developer with the ability to separate sandboxes. Justified change for PvP, but totally sucks for PvE. Sorry panned out that way for the people that like it for PvE.
-
The way of Bungo. Make players weak, add champions and stir. It's pathetic at this point.

Edited by ΞsnΛχΞ: 10/6/2023 7:12:10 PMIt’s because they don’t try to balance anything. The want things to be OP so you buy the ornaments and then they nerf them into oblivion so you use something else and buy the ornaments for that. And put in more playtime to acquire a decent roll and put a build together etc. It’s just a conflict of interest. You want the game to make sense, they want your money.

Hunter main here .. it was time, op for a long time .. Although they did receive the wrong nerf they should have been granted two nade charges and no grenade regeneration.
-
I don't get the pvp side either, as frustrating as a trap&knife ambush is, if someone dedicate his build and sub class for this, he's getting his -blam!- whooped in comp, and if he didn't, it's not the armor you should blame
-
The health and damage changes to the nade was needed. But the energy on kills instead of damage is debatable.

yep sad times the nerf and buff police strike again

this exotic is far from top-tier
I disagree. If it's not top tier, it's definitely just one tier down.
