So they are just dead currency, and losing them won't really effect you, it's like when they removed planetary materials has currency , you won't have to grind again , because they will be worthless But it will help new players be able to focus engrams they earn instead of having to leave them to RNG because they can't afford the shard cost , also removing the obstacles to upgrade there gear All this crying I see on the forums like there stockpile of Shards is there life lol, you got that much because all the useless crap the game throws at you, and when you get to max level and the right stats you want , then everything becomes trash I have played non-stop without any real breaks since D1 launch , and they can take my shards, Idc, I blew most of mine the solstice before last anyway chasing a triple 100 build, and about a million ascendant shards also , and I am building another stockpile has we speak Take my Shards Bungie, no skin off my back, and helps new players
