Constant disconnections from season content on college campus - can't change configurations on college routers (Error code SPINACH)

Having problems making it through season content without having to do mission 2, 3, and sometimes even 4 times before I actually make it to the end!! I have looked up what this error code means and it says it could be due to firewall settings on the router that should be reconfigured. Well... I can't reconfigure a university router. I have checked my wired network connection each time it happens and every time it says it's fine. I know it's gonna happen every time because all of the ads will freeze, nothing shoots back, if I kill something it spawns right back in the same position and same health, and it's really frustrating to the point where I just sit there and wait for it to eventually kick me out. Is anyone else experiencing this?!?!?!?!

    Hi Im Swat

Bungie fan. Been here for 16years! - old

Unless you can get into the networking settings to troubleshoot this and change firewall settings, it is likely you will experience this error constantly. You will have to contact your campus IT administrator for support. If they can't help, then there isn't much you can do. This is one of the downsides of campus internet.
Is anyone else experiencing this
Of course. Anyone else with a firewall and other networking settings set up to block certain connections will also experience this.

  • Hi there! Most universities have an IT department that can provide assistance in opening ports or port configuration for your device. Please contact your IT department to see what information they need from you in order to make this happen. In most situations, they may only need the service you are trying to use and the MAC address of your equipment. If they need additional information, please provide them the Advanced Networking Guide, listed below. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496751-Advanced-Troubleshooting-UPnP-Port-Forwarding-and-NAT-Types
