- In their community who are only happy if no one else is.*
Look. You know, they tried catering to the players who want everything to be hard and unpleasant. They ended ability spam by and large, everything is way more bullet spongey, nothing is any more rewarding than it was before. And look where they are, all interest sliding off the game like water off a duck's -blam!-.
Because the game isn't fun to play anymore. Things don't have to be ridiculously easy, but stop trying to push the narrative that people want this. A small number of very loud people want this, everyone else is sick of it and the numbers show it.

2 RepliesEdited by Griever: 8/25/2023 1:57:26 AMI wish they'd address the fact there's basically no incentive to grind power levels. Your LL only matters in lost sectors, Trials, normal campaign/ raids/ dungeons, patrols, and non-playlist activities, and the recommended level for each ranges from 1600-1800. Almost everyone is higher than that, I'm already at 1815 or something like that with the artifact. We're capped at or below in strikes, nightfalls, seasonal playlists, legendary campaign, and master raids/ dungeons. What's the point in grinding anything except better stats/ rolls for gear and red borders, especially when they introduce LL upscaling later so a 1700 can do a 1900 activity as if they were 1920 because the highest member of the group was 1925? Then even new players could do the absolute highest tier content so long as they have the right weapons. They need to actually make content harder instead of what they do now. Make higher difficulties increase the number of enemies, increase the ranks of some, increase their damage/ accuracy/ ROF, and maybe throw in a modifier or two instead of capping/ nerfing us, nerfing us again, then buffing the enemy. At least then we would have a reason to care about our LL/ gear level beyond the seasonal challenge.

1 ReplyI honestly don’t care about the game getting harder, but they did very little in the way of making things more rewarding. The biggest improvement they could make would be to reduce the size of the world-drop loot pool to more heavily focus on what players actually want considering that’s where a vast majority of gameplay’s loot comes from… - Reduce armor drop rate from basic legendary engrams once you are at powerful cap. - Remove any weapons from Pre-Witch Queen. - More heavily weight weapons from the past year Maybe this would make basic activities actually feel somewhat rewarding.

Ended ability spam? Uhhh....no one tell him.

masochism (in general use) the enjoyment of an activity that appears to be painful or tedious for others . masochist (A masochistic person is someone who finds gratification through pain, degradation, or self-denial.) Funny thing lucky 10p a random streamer for d2 admits he's a masochist whilst talking about the difficulty increase and wanting the game harder ,plus i heard datto might be leaving d2 good riddance is all I can say game would be so much better without streamers like salta an datto anyway

And look where they are, all interest sliding off the game like water off a duck's -blam!-.

A small number of very loud people want this, everyone else is sick of it and the numbers show it.
Speaking interest in the game and what numbers support....1.12 million people online in the last 24 hours. I know. I know. New season. But this is similar to last season, and the player count dipped below 1million a week after the story line ended and the new exotic came out. A dip like that is normal near the end of a season. I mean have you ever considered that most people enjoy this game even after the difficulty spike? I know these eco chambers have a way of confirming our biases, but have you actually looked at the numbers? Anyway my favorite part about the increase in difficulty has been looking at people getting shot four times by a boomer and then yelling "I HAVE 100 RESILANCE, WHY AM I BEING 1 SHOT" into the mic.

7 RepliesThe biggest issue with destiny is that the devs constantly confuse the word "challenging" with tedious.

Well to me personally a hard game is fun and not unpleasant.

The community is what it is. I've been to previous Guardian cons and wasn't impressed with the affability of Bungie reps. I've met more Al-Shabab guys that were genuinely nicer I wouldn't lose any sleep either if I could Mayhem my way through PvE. Have the Fallen/Hive/Vex/Taken/Scorn get together and bring their complaints to the Bad Guy Union. Maybe they'll get restitution or maybe they'll get a fireteam of Guardian Pinkerton strike busters

8 RepliesAbility spam wasn’t fun. Gun play is the best part of destiny and you didn’t need to shoot guns when it existed - even a lot of builds now you don’t need to shoot

Difficulty is fine. The problem is that a large portion of the community thinks GM and tier 3 content should cater to casuals. Some people need to lower their own difficulty. Stick to the basic strikes.

2 RepliesThe overwhelming success of souls like games do indicate most gamers want more of a challenge than participation trophies this day and age And we actually have different difficulty levels of the seasonal activity, like Archons Forge and Blind Well , if a powerful offering in the summoning circle is too spicy for you, you can run robust(Tier 2) and still complete it , it will just take a little longer

1 Replythe game is made for casual players from casual players, this season activity is the perfect example, spire is the one with normal difficulty , altars i the one that have pepega tier, normal tier and hard tier s
You know, they tried catering to the players who want everything to be hard and unpleasant.
My personally when i asked for this, i asked that Master Raids and Grandmasters to be harder, not for Patrols to be Spongey. Thats on Bungie for half A##ing it. I also asked for Trials to have better Rewards, and for Comp to get a Good Rework or Use True Ladder MM. I never asked for a Hybrid abomination. Thats on Bungie for half A##ing it.

7 RepliesI wish people would stop pushing the narrative that the game is excessively hard, but people aren't gonna stop doing that now are they dear.

What is it you're struggling with? Everything? Or just the hardest stuff? Honestly asking so please don't take as an insult.

If they did I would still be playing

1 ReplyHave you played this week yet? There have been significant difficulty changes. You might need to check what the burn is on the activity and change your chest mods. I will say though that there seems to be a glitch with those Savathun projections. The solar attacks burn you down almost instantly even though there is no solar burn and I have solar chest mods. Either that or Titan resilience is off. Other than that though.

1 ReplyThere are enough difficulty settings in this game where any competent dev could have made the game work for both pools of players. Catering to the streaming scene is why the community in this game is so bad to begin with.
