Name Changed?
Hello,
I am seeking guidance as to why my player's name was recently changed to a default name. I have been playing Destiny under my name I created back in early March 2023 with no issues. Until this evening, when I signed in it gave me a default name of "Guardian9258#5367" claiming I was logging into the servers for the first time. Once I went to the Bungie.net website did I realize I have no more name changes.
My previous name was "ZavalasBaldBlueSack" and have had no issues for the past four months regarding it.
I read through the code of conduct and in no way did my name specifically state any explicit or -blam!- meaning. Sack is a generic term used for a bag or cloth mended in a way to carry items.
If my name violated those terms EVEN THOUGH it was permitted through the censor system, please give me a name change credit so I may alter it to a custom name. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you give me.

Unfortunately at this time we are only able to change our Bungie Names once, regardless of if it was intentional, a typo, act of siblings, pets, or other errors… one shot is all we have. Just because you bypassed the vocab filter does not mean it was ever okay to begin with Buddy. Just be happy they didn't ban you from the game entirely.

I looked at his account...and to no surprise his XBOX name is not better...more of the same childish naming! Why Bungie didn't ban immature kids so they learn their lesson the hard way? 😆

it had no issues because it was not caught by the filter and was subsequently reported and deemed by bungie to be in violation of CoC. you're lucky all they did was change your name. they could have banned you. you will not get a 2nd name change. hope the 4 months of that name was worth it.
