Happy to not be chasing a new Power Level
One thing I'm happy about this Season is that the Power cap didn't increase.
For the last couple of Seasons I'd get to the Powerful cap then struggle to grind out to the Pinnacle cap so I wouldn't be considered under-level for other activities.
This Season I didn't have to worry about grinding back to the level I was at for all of my gear & can just focus on getting Pinnacle drops, which also gives me the breathing room to focus on other things.

And when you realize the pinnacle increase was the only reason to do things each new season , you will regret this post MMOs are supposed to have max power increases , or they don't work -
It was a stupid decision to dwindle down on pinnacle drops.

The game just doesn't engage me enough to do all the activities on all 3 anymore, when I had that pinnacle level to chase on all 3, it would at least encourage me to change characters if i had nothing to do on my Warlock. Now I just don't see the point if I'm being honest.. It's funny how I pushed for this change, but I sort of feel a void in the game now. It's a strange one.

I love this change but now there's really no point in challenges rewarding pinnacle drops, I mean yeah get all your other gear to 1810 but after all that then what's the point. I ain't complaining it's just means I get to play the game less and then go to Warframe or Diablo.

Agreed. The idea that people were logging on just to make a little number go up shocks me… however even to those same people, why don’t you work on your guardian rank? That’s a pointless number that needs to go up?

Though It’s not required to hit the pinnacle cap each season. However, when they don’t increase it (such as the current) The game feels meaningless to play. This game used to feel like an RPG, now it’s starting to feel similar to call of duty campaign , or any of those other PVE games. Having a hard time trying to understand why we are power-capped in playlist activities - (nightfalls&GM) Was it to appeal the casuals? Just a Handful of items worth grinding for; they still lock us out on a week to week basis for story progression and quest. We just barely got grandmasters week 4, and cant even guild the title until week 7* Have to say, Chasing the pinnacle cap and seeing the potential power of seasonal artifact in Build-crafting was the highlight for me.

3 RepliesInstead of removing the pinnacle grind, they should have just let us select which slot we got the pinnacle drop in. The RNG was the problem, not the grind.

With all the other games happening right now I find myself playing less. Usually over 100 on season pass by now and I’m not even 70 yet. I doubt I’ll make it to 300 like I have for all but like 3 seasons since opulence. Is what it is. I’m really going to be out after FFXVI drops next week.

It was an amazing move imo. I don’t usually hit the pinnacle cap until the end of the season; now I don’t have start the pinnacle grind all over again as soon as the next season starts. Now if I wasn’t so damn busy with irl stuff this current season I could actually enjoy some endgame content.

Edited by Cooper: 6/16/2023 2:43:46 AMIts actually insane to see people actually wanting a boring arbritray grind like you actually get stronger this isn't borderlands or really any mmo, you grind to do the same content you did before ff14 and borderlands do gear progression better. The even funnier part is literally EVERYONE complained about how artificial the grind was but all of a sudden "I need a reason to login" and the game is boring and has no meaning. Bruh ya'll need help 😂.

Why tf did you guys even power level prior to the change? Players are so weird. I haven't done ANY pinnacles in years. Still was able to do all the content in the game. Some pinnacles dropped naturally from stuff i actually naturally played i guess. But how people were actively playing activities they hated or were burned out of for a little number that was always meaningless is beyond me. WHY.

2 RepliesI'm happy too. Gives me more time to tackle the higher end content, rather than spend half the season to grind my level up. Getting one shotted in lost sectors I was speed running the previous season was a joke.

Me too and it’s allowed me to spend my time setting up new builds on all 3 of my characters and craft the weapons etc. I don’t miss wasting my time leveling that’s for sure.

Agreed. The game feels much better without having to grind for the pinnacle rewards. I find myself enjoying it more and playing activities I wouldn't play before for fear of not getting a pinnacle reward. Hopefully, Bungie keeps it this way.

Very much agreed. I started playing my Titan and especially my Hunter more now that I do not have to spend time I do not have trying to get them levelled.

Now we can grind the nothing there is to do.. But yeah, it was a good change.

Yep they were spot on with this change. This has been a really good thing for me as I have had alot more time to help others in the clan with there first raid or any content are trying to get done .
