I think their new take on crafting is incredibly bad and this has ensured my less engagement with the game. It felt so good to see that little bit of progress with each red border until you eventually had access to the desired weapon roll. I played more because of it. Now it’ll be back to excessive grinds where you’re helpless to improve your chances. Does anyone actually like being helpless like this?

  • Crafting is a ALTERNATIVE. Not a replacement. If you want that kind of crafting engagement go play warframe.

  • It would be a alternative if all weapons would be craftable. If Bungie would have integrated it better instead of making a seperate system it would have been much better.

  • I don’t know what you mean. An alternative to what? They implemented focusing and crafting specifically to give players a measure of control over getting a desired weapon roll because they had decided that too much RNG wasn’t a good thing.

  • Crafting was implemented as a alternative to RNG not the replacement. It’s currently to crafting focused and RNG is next to meaningless. The vast majority of “best guns in the game” come from crafting, and very few are RNG based. The change announced gives value to both of them without taking value out of the other.

Weapon value is based on if they’re useful. Their performance. Who cares if it’s craftable or not, rare or not, etc. That has no bearing on its value. They literally implemented those things as a means for alleviating the unreasonable side of RNG. They gave us a whole spiel about it and everything. The enhanced perks are potentially issue causing, not the ability to craft itself.

  • This is way too objective for some people. A roll potentially others dont have has more value to them. Crafting is optional AND only benefits us because it doesnt waste our time more than we choose to waste ourself. But it doesnt matter to them because it feels different. If everybody can get it, there is no value anymore. Its sad.

I don’t understand how accessibility affects its value. Is it a good weapon? Does it perform well? Then it doesn’t matter how many people have it. A good weapon is a good weapon regardless. This whole accessibility determining value thing is just some toxic tryhard notion of value that has no logical basis in what the item is and does. Apparently some people can’t use and have fun with a weapon just because other people have it? They won’t use it because too many other people have it? Makes no sense.
