All they are really doing is making less weapons craftable. And it sounds like those weapons are actually going to be easier to craft since you will be able to activate deepsight resonance on a weapon if it isn't already.

 • Yes, they're making fewer weapons craftable going forwards, which is a bad thing. One of the problems with crafting is that there already aren't enough weapons to craft, and Bungie's only just now really dipped their toe in making old weapons craftable rather than just some new ones. While we're still going to get new ones, the news that they're making fewer weapons craftable this year than last is a very bad thing. I also made a post also disagreeing with this change the forums not long before Parked here did, if reading it may help give you some extra perspective on why we and others are arguing what we're arguing: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/262374707

 • I disagree with you on needing MORE craftable weapons. Crafted weapons essentially made random rolls irrelevant. Not every weapon needs to or should be craftable, otherwise, crafting a weapon will lose its significance, but this doesn’t mean non-crafted weapons should feel inferior and/or irrelevant either since their perks can never be as good as a crafted weapon. As things are now, I feel like unless the weapon you are using is a crafted weapon, it’s inferior. Reason? Crafted weapons have enhanced traits and perks that non-crafted weapons simply don’t have, therefore, they are always inferior by comparison. Giving non-crafted weapons the opportunity to be enhanced like a crafted weapon is a step in the right direction. This makes non-crafted weapons relevant again.

 • I'm bringing to your attention that "god-roll" is subjective. Look at Drang: my personal god-roll would be some reload perk with Incadescent, but guess what - Incadescent is not an option for crafting! So now i have to hope for a random Inca drop in these two weeks while still chasing Ikelos cannon and snoiper to craft at all (RNG is a mess). Yes, i am against reducing the pool of craftable weapons. But Bungie can keep "god-roll" perks out of crafting pool, like they did with Drang, to keep random-drop weapons relevant. Not really everybody pays attention to content creator's favorite options and follows them blindly.

 • My crafted Drang has Enhanced Incandescent, idk why you'd think you're unable to craft it with that perk? Only issue in your case is that Drang doesn't come with a decent Reload perk.

 • Not sure what you mean when saying craftable Drang doesn't have Incandescent. That's not correct.

 • If you ask me, there are plenty of weapons to craft right now. And don't forget that some of the best weapons are craftable. We don't even know what weapons will be craftable in the future. They may be really good.

 • I think you're misunderstanding what that meant.

 • That's exactly the problem. Why less? I want the weapons that I, well, want. Bungie introduced the perfect way to deliver items that are basically impossible to get as Seasons go on, but they reserve it for Raids, SOME Dungeons, and farmable Seasonal weapons. World/Activity loot pool crafting, 1-3 pattern requirements. Come on. For some weapons, I wouldn't even mind if they weren't the most optimal archetype or had weird stats. They look good. Or have a suppressor. I want my options back, Bungie, and if you aren't going to let us mix and match individual shader colors so I don't have to go digging through seven pages of bargain bin color and armor combinations, then at least let us have our weapon options in a reasonable format aside from just praying.

 • I mean we don't even know what exact weapons are going to be craftable. The crafting system as it stands now, in my opinion, has plenty of options. Plenty were even meta defining. It may be a quality of quantity kind of thing. I wouldn't be too upset about it yet. I don't think Bungie ever intended for crafting to cover all or even most of the weapons available in game. There needs to be that RNG element in this game; that is the kind of game Destiny has always been and will continue to be.

 • I am upset, though. I am upset because if they don't backtrack on this I won't get to craft the non meta defining weapons I want. I want my bows, I want my sidearms. I want suppressed weapon aesthetic. See, here's the thing. World dropped weapons get THE LEAST amount of attention (compared to other stuff). And it's easy to see why, for the most part they are very conventional and don't stand out performance wise. It would not hurt any meta chugging tryhard and it would not hurt any thousand IQ PvE optimization guru to add them to the weapon crafting list. There's still people with no Vex Mythoclast and there's still people hunting for a specific weapon roll for so long, me included. Usually their weapon hunt takes them to a place like Raids or Dungeons or Trials or whatnot, with a small loot pool for RNG to pick from and a comparatively small perk pool for RNG to either bless or screw over the player with. Why should I be punished with even worse odds for weapons that don't even come close to messing with the meta?
