I never understood this thing that people get all butthurt over others knowing they're online.
Who cares?
What is the real reason you need to be unsocial?
And, if that reason is valid enough, to you, there's a very easy solution to your issue. Either delete the people off your FL or just ignore them.
You don't owe anyone in this game anything.

But i wont change my settings to stop them. They will either leave on their own, or i will make them leader and leave. If you want me to help, just ask lol.

Just set your fireteam to invite only or closed and problem solved. It's really not that hard.

But know that ill leave, or you doing what i want while your in my fireteam. I might jump into a GM as a duo out of spite, since you busted the door open to my fireteam without knocking first. Lmao.

Then that's on you, I don't see a problem here. Bungo put into place an easy solution for people that don't want others joining them out of the blue, either use it or don't. Online Privacy settings have nothing to do with it.
