The exos have coding wired on there heads some of which ghost can’t erase upon resurrection. This includes their name and an exos reboot number is part of their name. Upon being rezzed, they add a number.
For instance Cayde 6 was Cayde 5 when he died during the collapse and only became Cayde 6 after being revived by his ghost.
