I’m calling it now y’all

I bet Mara betrays us to the Witness. We are relying heavily on her guidance and wisdom this season. Who gave us the idea to make a stalemate with Xivu? Mara Who has access to the vanaguard network where the Loki Crown Data is? Mara Who has already been approached by the Witness? Mara My prediction: Mara fires Rasputins arrays on the Traveler, wounding it, beginning the second Collapse. Either it’s Mara or I’m just overlooking it could be Clovis 😂

  • I mean if the lore is mostly true I don’t think she spent 10 billion years in the distributary with her entire agenda to come back through so she could help humanity just so she could betray us to the witness. In reality based on some lore I’ve seen she would be more than enough to handle us without the witness.

Mara isn't Mara... Mara is Osana, Osana is Savathun. We're still in the endless night, if never ended. The traveler will die or be infected soon, and we did it. It's already too late. The Vanguard and tower will fall red wedding style and Osiris isn't the phoenix of prophecy. There's one keystone character is Destiny... an epiphanic character.... It's isn't Elsie, or Mara... it's the person that chose virtue over power, for love... for family, and for the vanguard. "Here's looking at you kid". "You always were my favorite". Cayde came from Venus, the Brays came from Venus: the exodus black, exodus red, and exodus blue were the only colony ships to leave the insulated moon. What's the name of Cayde's ship again - what became Caydes ship? 😉 Joylon knows Crow is a traitor still... why he never helped him, it's in the lore... Joylon (his best friend) doesn't trust Uldren. We've been infiltrated. Crow, Osiris, Mara... are not who they seem. The cataclysm is coming, the end is nigh. From those ashes the phoenix of the Nine's prophecy will rise... renegade Cayde, Cayde 1... Clovis has a backup, powered by darkness... the long cold whisper. Cayde might kill everyone still alive mentioned during his epilogue mission before he comes back to us... reborn, as Cayde 7. Btw, everytime I write about this... it's been a developing theory of mine since Forsaken, it gets mysteriously deleted. Xbox club with 10s of thousands of members... mysteriously deleted, redditt... deleted... under youtube lore videos... deleted. This might not be exactly what happens but I'm close... I know it 🤓 👍. And this comment will probably be deleted too.

      • I think Mara is very much what she appears right now, a cunning tactician that is plotting war. She saw through Xivu Arrath's master stroke, being invoked in a ritual of warfare same as on Torrobotl. She loves her people deeply and knows the hell that would befall them should she side with the Witness. Especially now that we've seen the treatment of house Salvation. Clovis is clearly in league with the Witness already. If you've gone through the lore surrounding Clovis he has been listening to wispers from the Witness for a long time.

      • Her suggestion about Xivu and the Warsats is a sound one. I understood this right from the start, Xivu Arath and her worm are much like Khorne from Warhammer 40k, in that it does not matter from where the blood and skulls flow, only that they flow. She cares not if her army crushes us or we crush it, either way the ritual to open her way from the Ascendant Plane to ours will be fueled. In this situation the best option is to disrupt the ritual by starving it of the fuel. Hive rituals, as we've seen throughout the series must be done in precise locations and timing, and they tend to fall apart when something gets knocked off kilter. That's what we're going to do by NOT using the Warsats, we're going to leave a fundamental part of the ritual incomplete and therefore the ritual itself will fail.

If mara wanted to betray us she could have incentived using the warsats and caused the city to be invaded

      • It's more likely clovis will turn eviler in the fall season and that it will be a siva season. Especially since wrath of the Machine will probably be the next reprised raid and it most likely scheduled for the fall season. So it will tie in.

I dunno about that. Part of the season is seeing older characters coming to the realization that they have to carry a heavy weight to do what’s in their peoples best interest. Hers is her brothers downfall and his gift of redemption. I think you’ll see them having a come to Jesus moment at one point. I think she feels he was manipulated due to his unwavering loyalty to her. So she indirectly had a hand in what happened to him. Her exchange with Osiris was coming from the place of how difficult, thankless and lonely it is to be a leader at times. I think it was genuine and it’s about sacrifice this season. Let’s see what a Rasputin does.

          • I disagree; Mara might be an egotistical prima donna but her past actions have shown her to loyal.

Blade Of The Traveler - old

I don't think there was any deception concerning Xivu Arath, she is thinking outside the box, and knows her enemy , conventional force just plays into Xivus hands, just like we played into Savathuns by killing Riven, and The Cabal tried to fight War with War and lost their homeworld Actually her initial Idea of not fighting was better, but Ana put her 2 cents in a situation she didn't understand, so Mara had to compromise I actually like Mara now more than I ever have, in D1 to D2 Season Of The Lost,I thought there was nothing more to her than her looks, and was a self absorbed narcissist , but thinking back on it, she has always been our ally, helping us when her brother counseled against it , and Oryx would have burned earth if she didn't stop him at Saturn, sacrificing the lives of her people for the last city , now she acts has our guide on things Zevala,Ikora or Eris can't There is no way of knowing how Bungies current narrative team will write a character, but I hope Mara never betrayes us

              • Like many people commented here already I don't believe Mara will be the one to betray us. Even in alternate timelines she has always been a steadfast ally (even if her methods are questionable at times) I think like you mentioned it might be more likely Clovis has some backup plan to betray us and become a disciple of the Witness in his grand scheme to become human's savior / emperor.

                    • According to the dark future lore. The one who betrays us is actually Anna and Eris. So if if anything Mara may just very well be the most powerful ally we have aside from caital. Not to mention she has a deep hatred for Savathun. So if she were to betray us, it’ll probably be because the real Mara is dead, or there be a dark manifestation of her body.
