Please god remove rift from comp
Rift is meant for 6v6. It's been awful every game. Why is it even allowed on Cathedral of Dusk? Why is Cathedral of Dusk even in 3v3? It's huge and the back is insanely overpowered for campers. I'm not even gonna mention how terrible and recycled the added new content is. Additionally, where are the new armor exotics?

Completely agree it’s awful. Don’t mind it having it’s own separate option for those people who actually seem to like it for some reason, but to group it in the playlist when most people can’t stand it makes no sense whatsoever

People here are so annoying. Rift in 3v3 is the best and most fair PvP mode I've experienced in the game. You can't like everything about the game. Take a chill pill. Others do like Rift.

Yea I can’t understand how rift is comp 😂 so far every match as been just farming kills. Easy to spawn trap 3 instead of 6 😂

I’m really enjoying it, personally. It’s nice to have variation in the playlist. It works really well in Freelance - easier to coordinate with 2 players and keep an eye on what’s happening with respawns, so you can make your moves accordingly. People camping the back is to be expected when they respawn and the other team has the spark. It’s attack and defend. From what I’ve seen, people are too eager to go straight for the dunk, before they’ve taken care of the opposition (I’m sometimes guilty of this too). You have to be patient, plan your attack and know when to retreat. I really like that tactical side of things. -
1 ReplyBiggest problem in comp right now is the use of SBMM in a ladder-based mode. I've been going back and forth between Gold II and Gold I because any time I make a little bit of headway the game puts me up against a team I have no chance of beating like four times in a row.

Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever its like they shouldn't be allowed to have guns if that's supposed to be balanced.

2 RepliesRift in comp (3v3 mode) has too many rounds. When teams are more or less even… a single rift game lasts for a freakishly long time. How about… limiting the number of round, specifically for 3v3 Rift (a maximum of 3 full rounds). In this scenario, if a team wins the first 2 rounds then they simply win the match, and everyone moves on to the next comp game. If the score is 1:1 then we play the 3rd round in its entirety… And if the score is still 1:1 and nobody wins the final round then we play a short OT for the win. If no winner after that short OT (score stands 1:1) and nobody loses any comp points. That way those Comp Rift 3v3 games would become much faster (so players could play more comp games in a single playing session).

It has been a couple days now and I’ve played plenty of games. I absolutely still stand by what I said. This game mode is not meant for comp just the same that cathedral of dusk and disjunction aren’t as well. I’ve never had any issue with ties in comp for years, now all of a sudden I’m tying games left and right with rift on these maps and in general. It’s an issue. I don’t care if I go up in rank from a tie, rank is pointless. I play to have fun. Spending 10 minutes running back in forth in freelance is not fun. Especially when it’s a 40 second jog to their spawn each time. I would also much prefer we take a break from this seasonal model and have all hands focus on a season of new exotics and old exotic reworks. Throwing a slight buff on a piece of junk doesn’t cut it. To those defending rift, yes it can be fun. Yes it has its merits. But it does not belong in comp. Comp is primarily player versus other players rather than objective. There are ways to spice it up, like showdown, but rift does not work in 3v3 and in a ranked environment. Additionally, there is virtually no reason to actually play comp aside from the meager rise drop. Some exclusivity to those who play the game more is essential to maintaining a high player count. It is a goal to work towards, and to those who are too lazy or incapable, they are what makes it special. You cannot have everything in life. Especially not in a game of this scale. Remove rift and consider that the community doesn’t want to be showered in these seasons. Give us the pvp tools we want, and give us the fun toys we want. That’s really all that matters.
