I just logged into the game for the first time in a few months, played a couple of control matches and actually had a really good time. I know they added sbmm to control and I’m surprised to say it definitely works. This was the first time in a long time I’ve genuinely wanted to play pvp.
I just wanted to say good job Bungie.

Careful you will rattle all the stat padders 🤫

Edited by X-LoganX: 12/5/2022 5:45:31 PMThe data shows that most people agree with this sentiment than not. Which is why they're adding Clash to the 'loose SBMM' Quickplay next season AND adding a more strict version to the new comp. More people want fair matches that are close then blowouts and stomp fests.

Another filthy casual enjoying pvp and then he’s gonna log off and not play for another few months after he gets bored. Hey at least you had fun 🙄
-
Someone who hasn't even played the game in months takes the time to log in and make a post on the forum.... Nice post Bungie.

While yes you feel like that now give the game a week to figure out your SR and you will change your mind rather quick. I was the same way. Loved playing PvP for a few days then it instantly did a 180 and became unbearable.

I feel the same way, somewhat. 6v6 feels extremely sweaty, but at least my teammates are (for the most part) pulling their weight. Losses feel more like legit losses, and not bad luck with matchmaking.

Im glad you had fun. I almost never enter pvp, but i wanted iron banner armor and jumped in last week and had a blast too. pleasantly surprised -
Great to hear! Ignore those trash comments LOL

+1. In a long list of missteps, SBMM is a breath of much-needed fresh air.
-
I've had the same experience. PvP is actually fun for a change.
-
Did they connect the radar to the skill system too or is it just the titan movment?
-
I just want a proper ranked mode with cosmetic rewards and we are getting neither. Big sad :(
-
Glad you had fun.

That's good but I'm not sure if you've played enough to experience the bad player to player connection now or when you get 5 players on your time that are at the very bottom of the skill bracket, i.e. 1.0 kd, and the other team has 6 players with 2.0 or better kd. It sucks imo but if you keep playing and still like it, good for you

As long as you avoid gremlin hours you will likely find SBMM PvP enjoyable from the mid to back end of the skill curve bell. Lobby balancing gets "interesting" late at night however. What I mean by this is their will be one demon per side with the rest of the slots filled in by mid-range to casual players. Which is team balancing but no one enjoys the lobby but the one gremlin on each side.

Well, that makes 1 person.
-
All good until you get a game suspension because your cat turned off your console.
-
Give it time. Starts off decent to lure you in then stomps you
-
Just don't leave early (or get kicked when their network poos the bed), or Bungle will warn you and then give you a timeout ban. And control uses Skill Base matchmaking, so if your Skill points were rest to zero because of your long absence, you'd be going up against many first time players.

Glad you had a fun time. Maybe you’ll stay a bit longer to keep enjoying it?

That’s awesome for you man, but for pretty much anyone above a certain K/D threshold; control is an unplayable, unforgiving sweat fest. I don’t even touch the game mode with a ten foot stick anymore.
