Snipers need help in pve
Bad reserves
Bad DPS (Burst and sustained)
Baddish flinch/ease of use
Bad against enemies with no crit (Brigs, most barrier champs, enemies not facing you, etc)
Mods cost 5+ energy

I've got a explosive round bite of the fox and a voltshot mechabra that seam to be pretty good. I'm not a fan of snipers in general but when I need to do a sniper bounty I used to use bite of the fox to complete em. It has served me well. And the mechabra has impressed me greatly, It hasn't left my load out screen since I got it. Even masterworked that bad boy. Honestly I don't think snipers are in a bad place in PVE... PVP might be another matter entirely
