Nah dude, I’m sick of people ask for paste eater easy abilities to be buffed. This is a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER, not smite.

No, it’s Destiny 2, there’s 12 subclasses, all with unique abilities. gun play is at the core, but so is ability usage…
-
Ability usage should always be backseated to guns. Stasis negates all gunplay therefore stasis needs to stay down.
-
That sounds that more like an opinion than an actual critique, but everything I heard you say talked about what stasis “was” not what it is. I know it was awful to play against when Beyond Light released, but that was over a year ago. The subclass doesn’t deserve to stay weak because it was OP at one point. Almost every subclass was OP at one point, but most of them have been altered and balanced over time to adjust for new content and the new methods players have found.

Nothing that freezes a guardian should be strong or at all viable in PvP. It’s an FPS
-
Yeah, so the point is to get an opponent stuck so they’re easier to attack. Lots of FPS games have mechanics like that. Rainbow Six Siege, Titanfall 2, Call of Duty, the list goes on. If you want a game with only gunplay, Destiny 2 ain’t it chief
-
Lmao it’s bad for the game. No other FPS has hard CC, it should never have been a thing.
-
Actually a lot of games do, the ones I listed above do, you could add overwatch to that list if you wanted too. Battlefield too. Does it kill fast paced gunplay? Yes, but thats what its designed to do, allowing for variability in gunplay. It prompts players to adjust their strategy and combat the issue a different way

Edited by Meaga: 7/26/2022 8:11:33 PMTo my knowledge those games have zero hard CC. Flash bangs and stuns are not hard CC at ALL. You can still move and shoot. They don’t take away all of your fighting abilities Stasis freeze is uncounterable, hard crowd control, that has no place in an FPS.

Area of effect attacks to slow down or prevent entry, temporary structures to block parts of the map, traps designed to hold people still, once again the list goes on. If you’re definition of Hard CC is freezing someone in place, yes, thats mostly unique to destiny 2, but unfortunately in most games, Hard CC are the things I’ve listed above. I go back to, CC is designed to get people to change their strategy, such as running up to someone and shooting them with a shotgun. If you get too close and they notice, you’ll be punished for it. Because of this you can adapt and play at a farther distance, outside of their CC range. Now say for example something like Silence and Squall, is very Hard CC. Not only does the storm move and follow you but the initial freeze has a super long range and the odds of surviving it are low. This is a form of CC that is overpowered when its cast, but once the storm is on the move you can outrun it unless you get cornered. Other than that and maybe the hit registration of the warlock super, stasis can be countered by staying out of its range and staying on top of spacing

Edited by Meaga: 7/26/2022 8:22:22 PMI’m not going to entertain this anymore. Hard CC isn’t different from game to game, hard CC is an ability that kicks a character down so that they can do NOTHING. Games that have hard CC, Destiny 2, OW, Smite Games that do not. Cod, battle field, rainbow ( destiny 2 before people listened to .5s.) Stasis isn’t “punishing apes”, it was broken and negated gunskill. Anyone who though this was a good thing should never be listened to and doesn’t get the point of a first person SHOOTER.
-
I won’t entertain this either, you are convinced that I’m asking for Stasis to be what it was when it was released and thats not what I’m saying. It puts a new obstacle into the crucible to promote new strategies. You also want Destiny’s PvP to be a type of FPS that it isn’t. Just like all CC aren’t the same, all FPS games aren’t the same either. If I wanted just gunplay, I would go to CoD or BF.
-
Then what if abilities were less about getting kills and more about buffing gunplay? This doesn’t have to pertain to stasis.
