Hey friends,
I know bungie recently "nerfed" fusion rifles going into this season but I still find them challenging to play against as someone who can't seem to move beyond crucible blueberry status. Anyone have any constructive tips out there? I know wards are a thing for Titans, but anything for 'locks would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ps- Can't wait for the first 'geht gud,' I'm sure it'll be very helpful.

The crouch around invis corner precharge nerds can be tough to get, but it's doable. Been a fusion main since d1 and they can be killed easily with the right weapons and tactics. If you're using a shotgun, you're already toast. They're a direct counter. Like rock paper scissors and your paper and they're scissors.

It helps to know what fusion you're up against to know the charge time/s. Rapid movement is the best way around fusions as each bolt will be shot at a new location rather than being released in one spot like a sniper or trinity ghoul at close range. Don't undervalue icarus dash, phoenix dive and more importantly sliding. Dash & dive will move you out of bolt trajectory quicker and sliding will change your hitbox shape to a more lateral box to move under bolts more than likely aimed at center mass.

I’ve been a fusion main since D1 and I can tell there’s is some good counters. 1.can’t beat them join ‘em. I’d suggest running rapid fire fusions. Most people are on precision fusion and there charge time longer then rapids by usually 250ms. If u get precharging down you will always out gun them. Note rapids have shorter ranges but you can play a little more aggressive with this archetype. 2.play tight to cover and bait there shots. Use audio cues. Most people in this thread have already said the same. 3.keep your distance. DMT or high impact. 4. Last but my favorite: Shadebinder warlocks are so underrated. Stasis turrent build. Demo weapon and high discipline. Use then like axion bolts. It will force them to move and and if they get hit it slows then down and tanks there accuracy

In general you want to either play tight and fast with your cover if you're within range, or get out of the limited range. Remember, Fusions as a whole are comparable about average SMG range, so they aren't hard to get out of.

Dont get hit by them 👍

You either need to bait them or pressure them. You can bait them by sliding round a corner then immediately jumping and Icarus dashing backwards or blinking away. That’s assuming they are camping round the corner waiting for you. Transversive steps with the longer slide helps or if your blinking try Astrocyte verse. To pressure them throw a axion bolt near them and start shooting. Preferably you don’t want to be in line of sight when throwing your grenade, but you want to be there shooting when it hits. In which case Ophidian Aspect with the quicker weapon ready speed will help. Basically your trying to get them to either waist their shot altogether or miss a few bolts.

Really the only way to counter fusion rifles is to play cover. If you ever find yourself out in the open away from cover against a fusion (or really any weapon honestly, but especially fusions) then you’re likely dead. Try to chip damage them rather than straight up ttking them all at once. That way you have less of a chance of getting hit with a burst.

A fusions weakest point is charging and it's got a very loud audio sound which while I can't really replicate the sound it starts kinda weak than gets a bit louder than the blast happens the best counter is to either A. wait till the sound stops or B. Go when you hear the loud shot sound since they have a pretty long delay long enough to allow primaries a chance to take them down. Another way is range combat since the two nerfs they got were a range and charge time nerf so if you play range it'll be tough for em not impossible however.
