I was able to get mine working on xbox series x by going to the sound settings in game and then using the "reset to default" button in the bottom right to get it to at the very least have the mic icon show up and register my voice being heard. [b]update:[/b] after the "reset to default" voice chat works between xbox and playstation accounts.

No no, I just got lucky. I couldn’t understand why they removed the option to turn voice chat on and off. Then I read on Reddit that if you previously had the option turned off that your setting moved forward after the update, which removed the ability to change voice chat settings. That made me think that maybe the reset button worked like a factory reset and would change any hidden options. Boom worked (slaps forehead) so simple
