Can we please get back at least some form of sbmm next season? I understand that connection based is meant to make things run smoother, but I’m playing on an alternate new light account an queuing up with double gilded unbrokens and it is not fun whatsoever :/

1 ReplyCrucible does need changes. Hopefully the sandbox adjustments help a bit but the most important ones are New maps Larger maps Changing some activities especially on the small maps to 4v4 A mode or general reduction to ability and super generation in pvp The ability for teams that are getting destroyed to vote for forfeit without having to wait for the mercy rule to actually be enforced. That goes for gambit too. When it’s 39 -6 in iron banner you should not have to wait around to get farmed Delaying spawn timers so the game has more time to asses a safe spawn Or if the game has to let you get spawn bombed by the same fists of havoc that killed you 3 seconds ago; give you 5 seconds of immunity on spawn so you have some possible chance to defend yourself 15 seconds of inactivity max at start of Match before auto kick and backfill Much stricter rules regarding player ping. If your ping is bad you should be booted to orbit instead of ruining the game for everyone Although cheating and 3rd party apps aren’t too common on console (which I play ) the ping issue is effectively the same thing. Kick the people on the McDonald’s WiFi out of the lobby if they don’t meet some type of basic requirement

No not all of crucible.
-
Yes. Im sick of getting matched with China/Korea/Japanon a daily basis. its supposed to be CBMM right now but when every player from the asia region lags across your screen 24/7 crucible is unplayable.

no, just no

48 RepliesLack of SBMM is clearly the downfall of this game. Why do you think Bungie focuses on "glossed-over" stats, like KDA and combat efficiency, instead of promoting an actual KD ratio? Why do you see so few new or inexperienced players? Why are the bottom third in skill constantly matched against "Flawless" and "Unbroken" players? Why are SOOO many Iron Banner matches ended by the mercy rule? Why is a game, that sports such expertly run pvp, not attracting more players? Why is Bungie now afraid to list it when people leave a match? Why are SOOO many people leaving (and throwing) matches anyway? The answer to all of these questions lies in Bungie's response to another question: Why is a very vocal minority of some of the better players so desperately scared of being matched with their peers of similar skill?? I cringe to think of what kind of molestation or ridicule someone must have endured as a child to make them not expect and want fair competition. To start, lets identify most of the bottom third of players. Anyone who is new or too young or old to have optimal reflexes, all those with any minor handicap to either hand or eyes or prescribed any medication that may slightly interfere with optimal cognitive capabilities, etc. Most of these people cannot just "get good." With the old sbmm system they had no problem finding fair matches. Now, all of the sudden, Bungie cant make appropriate matches?? I tried Bungie's supposed "sbmm" in competitive, and my team was repeatedly wiped, just trying to earn the very second rank. In addition, it took forever to get a game, and players were laging all over and shooting each other through walls, even with me running 1 Gig Internet, with everything hardwired. The competition was mostly skilled players. I was the lead scorer in 2 games and comparable to my team mates on the other games- so my performance wasn't the deciding factor. Bungie knows that people usually leave matches when they can't kill anyone-- but are less prone to do so when your team is winning-- which is why Bungie will matchmake to bring you closer to a 50/50 win/loss ratio. Bungie needs the bottom 30 percent to play crucible so their babied preferred customers have someone to kill and wont have a sweaty match. So they can try new weapons and have a relaxing crucible match. Yet, the bottom 30% are discouraged from trying a new weapon, because they are already matched against superior players, commonly equipped with trials weapons. Who needs help with trying new weapons more-- experienced players (who generally hit their shots irregardless of the weapon) or new players who are still trying to find an identity? Furthermore, the abomination of SBMM in Iron Banner is beyond contempt. Well over half of the matches are, or should be, mercied. Ever notice that matches are usually made up of 4 members roughly representing each third of the skill level? When that happens, who do you think the bottom third will have the majority of their engagements with? That’s right-- the two most skilled members on the other team. In a recent match, the top player on the other team had a 31 KD. That's right: 31.0. Mine was 0.67. Thanks again, Bungie. Almost all sports have some type of matchmaking. I haven't earned the right to challenge good players. (Btw, having worked so incredibly hard at crucible without results, I have gained a great respect for their skillz!) And I don’t want to be matched against players that I'm far better than. We just want to be matched with our peers of similar skill. The bottom line is that Bungie has made it clear that they will -blam!- the bottom third to the most skilled players, and piggyback off our servers to do it. They have made it clear that we don’t matter to their bottom line -- no matter how they lie or what publicity stunts they pull. These are the actions of a liar and a coward, Bungie. Period.

9 RepliesEdited by SuperSirianRigel: 7/5/2021 4:37:02 PMI'm beginning to think Bungie can't save PvP. No matter what they do. The noobs aren't going to play it ever again regardless of the matchmaking. So it's going to be matches full of sweats no matter what you do. The Crucible will never be a fair balanced shooter. They actually got close to it way back in the day. But the sweats who love to have their hero moments of stomping other players in the ground complained about the game being too boring. (Vanilla Destiny 2, with it's double primary system and slower movement and ability regen.) So Bungie turned the chaos dial back up to 11 with Forsaken. And all the noobs got ran out of the Crucible by all of the sweats because of it. The only hope we have is if they limit the heck out of special weapons, slow down ability usage, and actually give us some bigger maps where we can have long range engagements more often. And find and ban ALL cheaters. But who knows if they will really ever even do that.

Lobby balancing needs to go away so we can have real cbmm. Because this ain't it, and sbmm is trash.. Its always laggy and takes forever to matchmake.

30 RepliesWants sbmm.... Never plays the Playlist with sbmm... Rarely plays pvp.... Yes Bungie please listen to the patrol farmer casual. Let's go back to the 100k CoO pvp numbers.

8 RepliesWe officially made it full circle. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/5crmyg/99_of_the_bungienet_forum_posts_that_are_trending/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Another sbmm post with 0 upvotes, it's almost like you guys are just a loud minority huh?

1 ReplyTechnically, the Crucible is SBMM. When everyone is added to one pool, skill sorts itself out. Lag can kill the experience, but nothings perfect.

4 RepliesSeems like no matter what they pick as the matchmaking people are still going to cry about it. We've had just about every type there is throughout D1 and D2. We had SBMM and people complained the waiting time was too long, matches had garbage connections and the teams were unbalanced, stacked or too sweaty. We had CBMM and people complained the matches were too unbalanced, stacked, sweaty, unfair and the connections were still crap. We had a hybrid of the two and you guessed it, took to long to find players, teams were unbalanced and sweaty, connections were crap, stacked teams etc... Then we had Freelance matchmaking and of course; matches were unbalanced, super sweaty, bad connections etc... In Trials we had Card based matchmaking and (whoop de do) matches were unbalanced, lag, stacked teams just chilling in the bottom half of the card for easy token farms, unfair... We had SBMM in Trials and just as always, once you move out of the "easy" wins in game 1,2 or 3 then games 4,5,6,7 were "too sweaty", lag, unbalanced etc... I don't even understand the complaints that Trials is "too sweaty"...do people not know what that game mode is supposed to be?? Bungie knows what this game is. It's not an eSport, it's not competitive. It's a arcade shooter with BS and OP space magic. Heck they even renamed the "Competitive Playlist" to Survival.... The more I hear people complain about this game and all the changes they want to implement it sounds to me like they don't want Destiny PvP, they want something more like Halo, which Destiny is not. As far as matchmaking goes, just give me the kind that gives everyone a good connection so I'm not constantly looking blankly at my screen wondering why I'm getting wall bang and killed around corners by invisible people while playing hardwired to my network. Also Peer to Peer matchmaking sucks butt.

7 RepliesEdited by Haunter: 7/4/2021 4:15:41 PMIneptitude doesn't mean you get pandered towards Stick to the sbmm modes if you want but casual ones should NEVER have sbmm

Sorry Bungie’s pets won’t happy.

2 RepliesEdited by michael: 7/4/2021 4:29:55 PMI need SBMM back in rumble. Playlist is dead playing against people with no hands every single game, no competition and when there is it's just a race between two people to see who can get 20 kills the fastest without running into eachother

Community: Wah we don't want sbmm. Games hard. Give us Cbmm. Bungie: okay. Community: Wah we don't want cbmm. Games hard. Give us sbmm.

2 RepliesNo thanks. I don’t need a safety blanket in PvP that causes more lag than CBMM. There’s tutorials on YouTube how to get better.

Wait till u start looking up single players in free lance or normal crucible after getting a mercy and seeing despite they got “teams are breaking up” 3-4 of those enemy players have been playing together in every game for the last 10+ games. And 50% of there games are mercy wins but somehow continue to stay on the same team. Crazy. SBMM won’t help there

1 ReplyQuick play should not track stats or medals

5 RepliesAs far as I’m aware it’s still in IB and Comp. How fun are those modes again? It isn’t like people constantly complain about IB or anything.
-
1 ReplyThat sh!t never coming back, it failed too many times
-
Why do you have a new account? Also who cares? You should be good enough to do well since you already know how to play the game. This is not overwatch bruh, you cant smurf and stomp lower skill players lol
-
It's nonsense tbh. I don't think any of it is SBMM. I played a comp match where I was with 2 bags of oranges against 3 bags of oranges and lost because I can't drag 2 bags of oranges to victory. Then, in another match, I'm against Unbroken, multi flawless players I have no business ever playing. It's like a sacrifice round to keep them from b*tching and leaving. It's pathetic. There is no competition in this game and PvP stats are all fraudulent nonsense.

1 ReplySeriously. Enough with the tryhard toyboy whining. Their desperate desire to find digital meaning in their otherwise meaningless lives has killed everyone else's enjoyment of the game mode.

7 RepliesWon't happen. This is why I opposed cbmm because once its here its hard to really oppose especially being the most popular.
