So apparently grenade kill-based mods don't work with Darkness classes? #Bungie please address this!

I've been testing a grenade build with the titan behemoth for the past couple months, but wasn't until recently that I was able to confirm my suspicions about a possible bug with the darkness classes. See, Today a mod was sold by Ada-1 called "Heal Thyself," which states that any kill with a grenade replenishes health. However, whenever I shot or slid through my ice glacier grenade, wither the enemy be frozen or not, the grenade kill almost never registered as a "grenade kill" specifically. Yes, I would get the affect on occasion, but also note that I've had Whisper of Fissures equipped through all this testing, So the theory that I might just be missing enemies in the ice explosions, especially at point blank and frozen, is very unlikely, as the increased blast radius is very generous. So, if I'm not missing my opponents, and my grenades are indeed killing enemies, then what the hell is going on? The only theory I have is that because glacier crystals are a new mechanic, and don't function the same way light based grenades do, the game code is seeing the kills from that grenade and something separate from base grenade kill conditions, and is registering the crystal explosions as the new mechanic kill and not a "grenade kill." Bungie, wither you reply to this or not, I implore you to look into this issue. With Rime now in the game, my idea for a defense-based titan build is very viable, but the idea means nothing if all the grenade mods based around getting grenade energy or health on grenade kill don't work properly. (also, would it be so bad if you made a aspect that gives 3 mod slots with ice floaters please? I need slide and melee crystals in my life, but the 3 slots max is kinda sucking the soul outa me.) (note: I will be adding further testing notes on the season mod Impulse Recycler once I unlock it, but I have a feeling that it will act alot like the other grenade kill mods)

  • You pretty much solved why it doesn't work already. So your kills aren't being registered as the grenade killing them. I've only ever seen a rare out of the blue grenade kill with duskfields, but the game classifies the situation your in as a shatter kill since your not killing them with the grenade, but the reaction/detonation of the wall. Think of Stasis as Primers and Detonators. I had this similar issue when Stasis first game out and a step for the aspects was to get melee kills, which was hard as warlock since the game would register the kills as Shatter and not melee. Its why I don't use the fragment that grants super energy for Weapon kills on frozen targets, because 9/10 times the game is gonna prioritize the shatter as being the cause of the player dying thus giving you a highly inconsistent and situational fragment that also destroys your stats. Its not much a bug and more of a side effect to how Stasis works mechanic wise.
