Exotic ideas

I’m getting pretty bored so I figured I would see if the community has ideas for exotics.

  • I was thinking on a special ammo combat bow which shoots explosive scorching arrows and on rapid kills with the bow triggers restoration to the user. With its catalyst triggering an ignition from any source will give it a 15-30%damage buff for 6 seconds. I think it would be a great exotic and I really hope Bungie will add something like this. I love bows.

  • A memorable weapon for the sacrifice of Rasputin. Name: Red's Recital 720 RPM solar auto rifle It could follow a similar cosmetic idea like the rest of the weapons in Rasputin's arsenal. Functions similar to quicksilver storm(such as similar range, stability, ect.) But has a different firing mode activating a small rocket launcher similar to the mechs weapons on Seraph's station that aided you against Eramis (second firing mode can be activated after 6 kills or percision kills) rockets could moderately scorch targets in the AOE and could have a catalyst that adds incandescent and maybe take one less kill off for the rocket or something. Every 5th round out of the the auto rifle firing mode slightly scorches the target. And of course it's gotta have seraph rounds.   • What about a high impact pulse rifle but it has a built in trait based on subclass. Solar gets incandescent, arc jolt shot, void … weaken? It would be a middle tier gun with not too crazy of extra exotic traits (better version of outlaw maybe?) but would be extremely versatile for a variety of subclasses and builds.

After executing This high powered shot there would be a debuff or cooldown for this ability that would last 11 seconds The second perk "bring it back" would be getting precision kills with "hammer time" Would bring back the high powered round but executing bring ur back 4 time would result in a 20 second cooldown called "suffering from success" Flavor text: I dont know how or why this works but it does - Cayde-6 It would have 80 range 54 stability 30 handling 50 reaload speed I do want credit for the idea Edit:, I also want it to have a body like austringer or hawkmoon but have a design like a deagle (silver with golden etching in it and a brown leather wrap handle

    My titan likes to punch things. So give me an exotic that takes away my power melee and replaces it with an exotic that powers up as I beat things up. So I’d strap on the gauntlets and jump into a mess of thrall, each one I kill powers me up a bit, let’s me create orbs and move faster. Each one compounds my build up and when maxed out let’s me unleash a focused blast/earthquake. Or maybe creates a singularity to draw other enemies to me to attract them to me (but then gives an over shield?). Or depending on my subclass has a different option. Edit: or an exotic that does anything with finishers. Maybe just let’s the titan perform finishers on much stronger critters or whit more health left. Finishers have become very helpful with champions and an exotic to work with that would be sweet. Edit 2: and would someone please give me so more crayons? We need a crayola utility belt ;)

  • I've got numerous for you. An exotic gun (don't care what class) where you research perks by calibrating the gun. You can customize any perk, if you have it. Catalyst drops once you have all perks discovered and increases the base stats of the gun. A trio of swords designed not for the heavy strike, but for light attacks Solar: Guardian of the Pride: increased ammo capacity, damage, and guard depending on number of allies alive. Kills grant class, melee, grenade, health, and super energy for every 1,2,3,4, and 5 allies alive. Heavy strike drives the sword into the ground, producing a double rift until removed (this could take energy, but it might not need to since it removes the wielder from combat). I'll reply to this post in a bit with the rest of my ideas.

  • How about a stasis exotic sword? Can't really think of a good name, but here's an idea of what it could be like. Appearance: A very long blade made of levitating stasis shards, which are held in place by stasis energy. As ammo decreases, these shards start to disappear. Low swing speed, High damage Ammo cap: 12-15 Intrinsic: Shatterstorm: Heavy attacks with this weapon consume all ammo, unleashing a deadly hail of stasis shards in front of the wielder, slowing enemies. Having more ammo increases the range and damage of this attack. Blade: Jagged Edge Guard: Swordmaster's Guard Trait: Cold Reclamation: When this weapon is out of ammo, kills will restore 2 ammo. Catalyst: Frostbite: Enemies hit by Shatterstorm take greatly increased stasis damage for a short time.

    • Ooh i love these posts Exotic Warlock Boots - Icarus Engines Exotic Perk - Ad Astra: While Dawnblade is active, ADS charges Icarus Engines. Upon release, blast into the air, releasing a powerful Solar explosion in your wake. Charging Icarus Engines while sprinting generates additional forward momentum, charging while standing still fires you straight into the air.

      • Exotic Warlock Chestpiece: Exclusion Zone Exotic Perk: Event Horizon - Increases fully charged Nova Warp explosion Damage. While Nova Warp is fully charged, generate a gravitational field that pulls in enemies. No effect on bosses, vehicles and Guardians in their Super.

        Exotic Solar LMG - Igneo Morte [i]With your might in a weapon, all will fall to fire. [/i] Exotic Perk - Lightlink: Hold reload to activate Lightlink. While Lightlink is active: increased fire rate, damage and stability. Firing while in Lightlink drains Super energy. Exotic Trait - Supernova: Upon Lightlink activation with full super, overflows magazine to double capacity. Kills now chain Solar explosions. Exotic Catalyst - Pascere Ignis: While Lightlink is not active, kills with this weapon grant super energy.

      • Soul Ripper-Hunter exotic class item. Dodging drains a portion of health from nearby enemies, and healing yourself. Cloak has a long tattered cape with a hood that comes forward with a hive chitin crest. Beast Tamer’s Cloak- Exotic hunter class item. Consume a portion of your super to summon a War Beast that attacks your enemies. Also has The Life Exotic perk. Cloak is made of War Beast hide and the hood is made with the War Beast head(similar to the scorn sniper baron). Vex Tamer’s Bond-Exotic Warlock class item. Consume a portion of your super to summon a Harpy that attacks your enemies. Bond is an intricate arm band with flowing Harpy tendrils as well as Harpy fins. Hive Tamer’s Mark-Exotic Titan Class item. Consume a portion of your super to summon a Thrall that attacks your enemies. Mark is a tattered waist cape that has thrall skulls on the belt. Breastplate of The Accursed Thrall-Titan Exotic chest piece. Upon death, you explode, dealing damage to enemies nearby. Lower tier enemies(dregs, shanks, guardians)too close to you will be killed. Chest piece has a hive chitin theme with blueish green energy pulsing through cracks.

        • The Fire Cracker-Exotic bow. Fires a flaming arrow that creates a trail of fire behind it that damages enemies. Precision kills make the target explode into a volley of sparks that track enemies. The Hit and Run-Exotic sidearm. Killing an enemy boosts your speed. Can stack up to 5 times. Hold reload to consume the stacks as high damage rounds. Revolution- Exotic hand cannon. An old flintlock pistol. Fires one high damage shot that sets enemies on fire, before you have to reload. Reload takes some time. Has a small chance to deal damage to the wielder. Blunder or Buss-Exotic shotgun. Fires a slug shell that deals precision damage. Magazine of 1 Exotic perk is “The Hunter” After getting a kill, for a short time kills don’t take any ammo. [proto_BH.SR_B] Exotic Scout rifle. Fires a miniature black hole, that swallows up your enemy. It will keep growing for about ten seconds, before it dissipates. The larger the enemy, the faster it grows. Enemies that are swallowed by the black hole, create smaller black holes that appear near the original black hole. [proto_taken_FR] Exotic fusion rifle, where kills cause enemies to burst into a puddle of taken goo that damages enemies. Catalyst increases the damage dealt by the puddle, as well as making it so that standing in the puddle increases your damage output and heals you. [proto_taken_PR] Exotic pulse rifle. Rapid hits spawn small taken orbs that swarm enemies. Similar to outbreak perfected. Catalyst increases the damage of the taken orbs as well as how many spawn. [proto_taken_HC] Exotic hand cannon. Precision kills cause the target to explode into three taken orbs that track enemies. Catalyst upgrades the orbs to five. [proto_taken_BOW] Exotic bow.Take dipped arrows deal damage over time. Rapid precision kills spawn an acolytes eye. Catalyst decreases how many precision kills you need, as well as increasing the acolytes eye’s rate of fire. The Mosquito. Exotic sniper rifle. Body shots suck a portion of health from enemies and give it to you. The Viper-Exotic bow. Precision kills explode enemies into a cloud of poisonous gas that damages enemies that walk through it. The gas also slows you down, making it difficult to escape. Bow limbs are shaped like snakes. The Jesters Laugh-Exotic scout rifle. Precision hits reverse controls for three seconds in pvp, and immobilize enemies in pve. The Strike-Exotic scout rifle. Rapid precision hits summon an air strike on the targets position. The Frozen Scream-Exotic special grenade launcher. Projectiles stick to surfaces and emit a pulse of Stasis energy, slowing and freezing enemies within a five meter radius. Catalyst upgrades the range to ten meters. Magazine of one. The Piercing Cold-Exotic bow. Body shots slow enemies. Precision shots freeze enemies. Killing an enemy with a precision kill spreads stasis to nearby enemies, freezing them. Hailstorm-Exotic rocket launcher. Fires a volley of stasis projectiles, freezing enemies. Ice and Fire-Exotic dual wield hand cannon. Right trigger fires a stasis hand cannon, slowing then freezing targets, left trigger fires a solar hand cannon, setting enemies on fire. Can be fired rapidly. Precision kills with Ice spread stasis to other enemies, while precision kills with Fire explode nearby enemies.

          Artemis’ Sting. Exotic bow. Hold square to switch firing modes. First firing mode fires heavy damage precision arrows that take longer to fire. Second firing mode is a rapid fire mode, that allows you to fire an arrow a second. Bow has antlers on the bow limbs and red leather strips on the handle. <Hunter> The Deer’s Leap Exotic legs. Grants an extra two jumps and increases speed. Boots are stitched leather with rawhide dear skin chaps, antlers on the kneecaps, and high boots with deer hooves on the toes. <Titan> The Stampeders. Exotic legs. Sprinting creates shockwaves. Consumes super energy when activated. Boots are stitched leather with cow hide chaps and cow hooves on the toes, with steer horns hanging from the belt. L3 R3 to activate. <Warlock> The Wolf’s Howl. Exotic helmet. Replaces your class ability with a Wolf howl that stuns and damages nearby opponents and gives a small health bump to you and nearby allies. Helmet is a wolf skull with glowing white eyes. These were from my Season of the Wilds concept.

        • Thor’s Iron Gauntlets-Titan exotic arms, replace shoulder charge with a throwable hammer. Melee headshots with the hammer cause enemies to explode in a burst of arc energy, damaging nearby enemies. Hold melee button to have it return to you. Gauntlets look metallic, with fur underneath, Nordic runes on the gauntlets themselves and on the pauldrons, and arc energy pulsing from the gauntlets. Boots of Loki-Warlock exotic boots that allow you to run through the air quickly, for a short time. Hold sprint button to activate. Running through the air gives class ability regeneration. Boots are leather with fur wrapped around them, and pointed metal toes. Cloak of Freya-Hunter exotic cloak. Allows you to dash forward a couple of meters through the air. Consumes class ability energy. Two dashes take a full class ability charge. Cloak is covered in white feathers(affected by shaders), with a large fur collar. Gungnir-Exotic kinetic fusion rifle. Tracks enemies. Has a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine. Jotunn Perfected(Bring back Jotunn as an exotic quest, where you reforge it into a stasis fusion rifle, since Jotunn clearly comes from Jotunheim, the home of the Frost Giants of Norse mythology. Fires an explosive stasis projectile, similar to Jotunn currently, but enemies nearby the explosion are frozen and then shattered. Laufey. Long, thin bladed sword. Caster frame. Hold and release the attack button to fire a stasis projectile that tracks enemies. Light attacks slow enemies and heavy attacks freeze enemies. Draupnir-Warlock Exotic bond that that grants extra glimmer and a higher chance at better rewards from enemies. Also has the perk ‘The Life Exotic’. Braided gold arm band with holographic nordic runes. Meginjord-Titan exotic mark. Buffs all damage output by 5 percent. Also has the perk ‘The Life Exotic’. Leather belt that has metal Nordic runes with a fur waist cape. Mask of Anubis. Hunter exotic helmet. Enemies drop more glimmer and have a higher chance of dropping better rewards. Also has perk The Life Exotic. Mask is a Jackal mask with solar energy behind the eyes. Thunderbolt of Zeus-Brand new exotic archetype similar to The Valkyrie. Throw to cause a massive AOE arc attack. Kinetic weapon, does not accept ammo. Energy refills overtime. Magazine of 5. Design is a metal lighting bolt that pulses with arc energy. Gauntlets of Hephaestus- Titan exotic arms. Adds an extra throwing hammer and increases the damage dealt. Precision kills automatically return the hammer to you. Gloves are rawhide leather, with beaten metal vambraces, and solar energy from the heavy metal pauldrons and bracers. Mantle of Heracles-Exotic hunter cloak. Dodging gives you a brief over shield that reflects oncoming fire. Lion head hood with the the skin hanging down the back. Similar in appearance to the Iron Wolf cloak from d1. The Chimera-Exotic rifle. Three settings, each that give a different effect, can be manually switched(similar to hard light or borealis). First setting is a pulse rifle that fires a three shot poison round burst that stop you from healing for a while and deals damage over time. Second setting is an auto rifle that fires flaming rounds that sets enemies on fire, dealing damage over time and slows them down. Third round is a high damage scout rifle that fires a piercing round that can go through shields. Mask of the Gorgon-Hunter exotic helmet. Dodging near enemies freezes them. Increases the cool down by twenty seconds. Helmet has metal snakes wrapped around it, eyes glow yellow. Styx-Exotic sniper rifle. Body shots deal stasis damage, first slowing, then freezing, then shattering. Basic sniper rifle appearance, except that it has stasis crystals covering it. Helm of Kronos-Exotic Hunter Helmet. Replaces dodge with a ‘time jump’ that puts you back where you were five seconds ago. Boots of Hermès-Warlock exotic boots. Allow you to have more control over your glide, as well as allowing you to glide faster, higher, and further. Simple boots with small metal wings on the ankles, decorative gold shin armor and pointed toes. Cloak of the Illusionist-Hunter exotic cloak. Dodging creates three decoys that run around and distract your enemies. Increases the dodge cool down by twenty seconds. Mask of Dul Incaru-Hunter exotic helmet. Replaces jump with blink. Helmet has a Dul Incaru theme, with the helmet being made of chitin, with horns on the top with eye slits and a slit down the middle that gives off green hive energy. Boots of Xivu Arath-Titan exotic boots. Jump and hold down the attack button to crash down, dealing massive aoe damage. Consumes super energy. Boots have a hive theme, being made out of Chitin and having spikes coming out of them. Nokris’ Grasp-Warlock exotic grips. Consume a portion of your super energy to summon an acolytes eye. Your rift poisons enemies that stand in it. Hive themed grips with long pointed chitin shoulder pads, and gauntlets made of chitin wrapped with old bandages, with claws on the fingers.

        • Instead of just new exotics I would rather see catalyst for some of the older exotics first. Weapons like La Monarch, Thorn, Jotunn, The Chaperone, etc.

          Raiju's storm (im not creative) Hunters arms Flavor text: the thunder warns them of the storm that's coming. Looks like sunbracers, but more eletric and technological Perk: lancer of the sky: transform your arc staff in a spear that you throw to the ground and create a large arc explosion. Kills with arc spear gives super energy.

            Warlock boots: Herme's Talarias. Boots with wings on the side of them. Perk - wings ablaze: gain a third icarus dash, but with a longer cool down. _____ Warlock helmet: Visage of Embers The helmet will feature small holes at the back with fire protruding from them to form horns Solar elemental kills improve the recharge rate of your solar abilities.

But the Light will always find its way." - The Speaker[/b][/i] Appearance: Not sure, but would include some sort of glowing/fire element. Exotic Perk: [b]Shelter from the Storm[/b] [i]Well of Radiance, Divine Protection, and Attunement of Grace Healing Rifts grant Stasis resistance for their duration, with Well being much more effective (enough to put up a good fight, but not completely immune). Slow effects are reduced (movement speed not as drastically slow, vision less occluded), freezing is more difficult, and breakout damage is decreased. When you or your allies take Stasis damage while affected by Shelter from the Storm, your abilities get a very short damage buff.[/i]

              • Had an idea for an exotic solar sword that has Crownsplitter's downward strike but comes with a DoT AoE. Killing enemies burned by the AoE refill sword energy quicker and increases the sword's damage. Its catalyst would increase the size of the AoE and heal the user whenever a burnt enemy is slain. This would make it basically like a mix between Guillotine and Lament. I also had a sweet lore tab made for it in the last thread I suggested this, but I cannot find it unfortunately.

                • Titan Gauntlets Name: Fists of Surtr Appearance: Gauntlets made of molten rock, glowing with heat. Exotic Trait: Ragnarok: Ability kills with the Burning Maul subclass create explosions and refund melee/grenade energy based on the number of enemies killed.

                • I know there's too many of them but Heavy exotic hand cannon called almost. Single shot, massive damage, enemies killed explode and armor piercing rounds? (Keyhole from d1 golden gun just don't know exactly what it would be on a weapon) Looks like a silver hand cannon with a breech grenade launcher barrel. Flavor text could read something like "you know it's more firery then actual gold right?" Just find the concept of quad hand cannons funny similar to how you can currently have quad bows thanks to the leviathans breath.
