I really miss belonging to a faction, I mean yeah future war cult and dead orbit are sort of back but not like D1. It was super cool to turn in bounties and get faction armor/weapons and also the “exotic” class items. I could see them making a return to that (including an exotic quest) kind of like seasonal armor/weapon quests where you have to do X amount of playlists and kill X amount of enemies with faction gear.
It could have a seasonal reward for the faction doing the most like the guardian games and can be implemented into the whole “Omg the darkness is here! We need resources for the up coming war with the veil” and could be another thing to do for the next 3 years.
I also really just miss the omolon dead orbit scout rifle and hunter cloak..

Factions added so much flavor to the game. All the unique gear was amazing for creating that MMO experience they pretended they wanted. I'd love to see them come back. With the way the game has evolved, a lot could be done. Bungie seems to be looking more to the past for content so maybe we'll get lucky somewhere down the road?

21 RepliesEdited by SK Gh0st3209: 11/23/2020 7:54:51 PMRant incoming: They really should but they already confirmed in the warmind expansion they weren’t gonna bring back factions in any way. Which is really stupid because they’d rather focus on eververse which involves real money. Which makes it even more stupid and selfish because they’ve already got £40 from each player who brought beyond light plus the extra £10 from the season pass which requires silver which is brought w real money. So they’re basically greedy for money turning d2 into a pay to play game. When factions were a thing in d1 everything was worth putting in the effort for. The weapons, shaders, rare ships, armor, etc. it was unique unlike in d2 where they cba to make new content and give us the same event, content, weapons for each new content every time. (I’m mainly talking about dawning, haunted forest, etc.) it’s just not fun.

2 RepliesEdited by Caitiff: 11/22/2020 4:46:07 PMAgreed been a FWC man since destiny 1. We need a win damnit we lost every war to new monarchy lol and dead orbit. Also why don't they just take destiny 1 factions weapons and just bring it over to d2? I mean y'all brought back taniks and other d1 crap. Give us all the factions weps and gears too. It's not like you will have to make anything new.

1 ReplyEdited by Encephalectomy: 11/23/2020 2:26:52 AMJust want my New Monarchy shaders back.

You know what's funny is... I ran around the tower today... The Executor Hideo has disappeared. All of the Future War Cult has vanished. But Arach Jalaal and the rest of Dead Orbit are right where they are supposed to be.

1 ReplyAlthough the exotic class items and shaders were cool in D1 and they presented some neat world building in the City. I can't find myself becoming all to interested in them in D2. The faction rallies didn't do much in vanilla D2 and while they did provide catalysts all I can see them becoming is more useless vendors to throw tokens at or retrieve even more bounties from. Maybe if Bungie went above and beyond and made faction specific adventures and quests along with unique weapons like they given us in previous rallies maybe they could be interesting but I doubt that will happen. ;-;

I mean more content, bring back the Kallipolis set as well

Yay more grind🙄🤷♂️

6 RepliesEdited by CosmiQ-Toast: 11/22/2020 6:04:04 AMIf they do bring back factions (which we kind of have right now) like new monarchy and dead orbit, it would simply be for cosmetic reasons, maybe you could even customize your character’s personality too by changing your character’s stance and the way they jump, hover, fly and dodge. They could introduce things like, if you pledged to Future war cult you could learn how to dual wield weapons. If you pledged to Dead Orbit you gain access to new melee archetypes, and new monarchy gave you dope lookin armor and consumables that helped you focus on specific exotic engrams. Something along those lines to break up the monotony of every guardian basically being exactly a like and to bring a bit of diversity to subcultures within destiny.

Factions need to matter. Not just weapons and armor: they need to have an impact on story and content. Cutscenes with the leaders of each Faction.
-
At this point I only want them back so the world loot pool isn't as diluted.
-
They could do a "season of the factions" or whatever name, and make public events based on competing for points or other activities, heck bring back hd versions of SRL and turn them into faction wars, give faction based triumphs with distinct names, c'mon bungie you can do something actually competitive then bounties for god sake!
-
Bringing back factions like D1 would be a huge step in the right direction of recovering D2 and this new DLC. Factions would be needed more than ever right now with the darkness in our backyards. Would be absolutely great idea...too bad we’re gonna have to buy a metric ——— ton of silver for them to have the “tImE aND ReSOuRcES.”
-
Well they took away the 160 future war cult tokens I had in my vault when beyond light came out so they can kiss my ass. I earned those and if I wanted them to just take up a spot in my vault thstd my prerogative
-
I mean we do have weapons and armor available now. But yeah we need more diferent activity
-
They could put all the faction weapons and armor back in the factions and we can target farm with weapon bounties.
-
Edited by Olórin: 11/22/2020 3:31:25 AMThat means they'd have to add more gear, Bungie doesn't like adding stuff. Think of things they can take away, they'd like that. That being said; I miss my New Monarchy exotic Warlock Bond and Exotic Ship.
-
Yes but only if they actually go into more depth with them, rather then "this shader is yours"
-
3 RepliesThey removed them because it costs them money. Think about it, it takes resources to make weapons, armor etc for all 3 factions, there's no way to monotize it and I'm sure they were worried that the players would use that gear over say eververse styles. It's pretty sad really, how come they could have full vendor refreshes every dlc, while working with the PS3, 360, PS4 and Xbone, but now it's 3 platforms that run the same architecture they remove vendors instead?
-
3 RepliesEdited by RedOctober7: 11/21/2020 1:15:50 PMI obviously can't speaks for everyone, but even if the factions had vendors at the Tower with branded loot I would be happy with that. Let's be honest, for a game full of reskins, factions are that difficult?
-
We looked over your feedback and decided to nerf warlocks. Buy more silver -Bungie

1 ReplyJust join the Eververse Faction !!! Every $20 gets you a go around . They are the Faction with all the Design Priority and Restock in the game anyway . Luke Smith has made sure Tess is the one and all Might in this sad pathetic once great game . Why Bother anyway . The Gear would just be another Reskin of a Reskin of a Reskin that was a Reskin of the Orgional . They only want a season Pass or Eververse JUNK to be original so you will Pay for it . Bungie no longer has any talent . Or the ability to Manage what they do have left . It’s a looter shooter with nothing to do . One Strike , no new Maps for Crucible or Gambit after a year of design you are bored in a month . Reskins fills the so called Vendor Refresh , it this is their plan for the next 3 years with no Next Gen Title then why even bother playing lmao Fanboys I grant you the New Title of DIEHARDS .

Most of Beyond light armor I've been getting has been faction armor
-
I was just using the hung jury in D1 pvp this morning. Way fun!!

Edited by Double07: 11/21/2020 3:00:51 PMI like factions because they had their own loot pool from weapons to spektar armour to ships. The rep system is what D2 is really missing, and a loot pool reset.
