Lower framerates, frequent crashes and "verify game files" errors

i5 7600K 16 GB RAM GTX 1080 Destiny installed on SSD Since BL, I have noticed my average framerate is lower (used to be around 120, now about 84) and will get occasional stutters with noticeable lines across the screen (2-4x per hour), usually when loading into new areas. I was also previously plagued with the "verify game files" error and tried every solution suggested to no avail. This would happen maybe a few times a week. Yesterday alone I received this error over 5 times. The error & crash usually happens when loading into a new area, but not always. One of the crashes yesterday happened while I was just standing in the tower. On the plus side, verifying the game files now goes faster. Game settings are high on most things. Note this is the only game of hundreds on my PC where I experience issues with crashing or stuttering. The frame rate issue is less concerning right now, but the "verify game files" errors and crashes are making the game extremely difficult to play. I fear for the impact it will have on my raid team next weekend to get a 24-hour clear. Are there any new solutions for this? For background, the fixes I have tried: Verify game files in Steam Reboot Deleting all files from game folder except "packages" and verifying in Steam Uninstall/reinstall Reinstall on SSD (from HDD) Put GPU in debug mode Run Steam and Destiny as administrator Set Destiny as high priority Cleared Steam download cache Installed MS Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable x64 Package and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7 Set Destiny 2 to use the high performance graphics card Set Destiny 2 as exempt in antivirus Checked firewall settings Updated drivers (Attempted the delete "steam_api64" file fix, but the file did not exist on my PC)

I've got pretty much part of the same issue as you, save that I have a slightly higher CPU than you. Msi RTX 2080 super ventus xs oc Intel® Core™ i7-10700k CPU@ 3.80Ghz 15,84 GB RAM Destiny installed on SSD One differenc is that i'm not really able to play. After minutes it crashed. Often with the "verify game files" error mentioned before.Tried to fix it since release but nothing helps and jeah get no really help from support^^ Question: How did you verifying the game files? The simple scan function in steam doesn't work in my case.

So found a possible fix on Reddit, the following two settings can be tweaked to improve frames name="force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" value="0" /> Changing this setting to 1 also increased frames, not sure if it will work for all PS. THIS SETTING CAN CAUSE FLICKERING ON SOME PARTS OF DESTINY, FOR EX. EUROPA, TROSTLAND... (Apparently this below setting is for Nvidia users, however it seemed to have helped with my AMD) <cvar name="low_latency_mode" value="1" /> To turn off Reflex Low Latency functionality, set the value to 0. This may slightly improve framerate at the expense of latency. Default Reflex Low Latency functionality is enabled when the value is set to 1. When the value is set to 2, Reflex Low Latency with Boost is enabled. This feature overrides the power saving features in the GPU but can provide slight increases in latency reduction. The file is located (on Windows) at %appdata%\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs PS. Not sure if this is again COC, use at your own discretion!

      • I've got pretty much part of the same issue as you, save that you have a slightly higher CPU than I do (i have a i5-6500). Exception being I've not had to verify the game files, just the frame rate drop part. My setup is having it go from 60 down to the mid 40s at times in activities and when loading new areas on destinations. Haven't found anything to resolve this myself, thought it was due to my older hardware (compared to some people on here) but others have brand new hardware are are getting the frame rate issue so I'm thinking it's some issue with optimization on the game side. Here's hoping the team figures out whatever this is causing the drops, and whatever is causing your game files error as well. (Or we get a driver update that helps it out, I'd take either at this point). Out of curiosity, when you get the stutters on loading new areas does the stutter drop your frames much lower than the "regular" drop? Asking as I've seen people noting the drop but not how much it drops.

          • Same issue on PS4 Pro. Game keeps crashing saying it can’t read game data, then proceeds to verify files. After that completes I get kicked out with the BEAGLE error. This issue is game breaking.

          • This might not help much, but you can turn off low latency mode, it might help with the frame drops. %appdata%\Bungie\Destiny2PC\prefs Open the cvars file with an editor and scroll till u see low latency mode, set the value to 0. Hope this helps.
