I can almost guarantee that it won't run 4k 60fps on console.

  •
Do you believe everything you hear? Are you really that naive?
Do you wear a tin foil hat 24/7? I don’t care if it runs at 50 FPS. It’s still better than 30. I really don’t even care about frames. What I do care about is consoles FoV. Because currently the 72 we have now is strait garbage. But they’ve said nothing about it probably because it isn’t changing. Doesn’t mean one can’t wish.

  • Oh we all wish for sure. Im just skeptical until I see real proof. I know how much money it takes to build a PC capable of 4k60. If consoles hit it for $499, I'll be shocked. Incredibly shocked.

  • Again, hearsay. Until they are released and performing in customers hands, I won't believe it. Remember when Bungie devs said "see that mountain over there." Food for thought.

  • Seems likely they’ll both run in at least 60 frames considering PS5 and Xbox series X will be inter generational

Games that are “optimized for series x” definitely will hit 4K 60 FPS and more depending on the developer. I can’t say the same about PS5 though since I haven’t seen any “optimized for PS5” games (if that’s even a thing) Edit: and yes, Destiny 2 will be optimized for Series X.

4K 60 fps sounds likely to be the case for the Series X at the bare minimum. I'm not sure for the PS5's case, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say it will since both consoles use a modified RDNA 2 graphics card. What I know for sure is that NONE of the consoles are hitting anywhere near 8k 120fps as advertised. The ONLY way that there could be even a slight possibility is if you're playing an indie game and you're looking at the sky lol. And if you replaced the gpu with an RTX 3080 (if it was compatible). At the very best, both consoles will maybe hit 4k 80-120fps (depending on the game). Third party games will look great on both platforms and almost alike, but the Series X will perform a bit better. Still negligible. Personally I kinda prefer 1440p/1080p 144Hz/+60-144 fps. But I'll be purchasing a 4k HDR monitor specifically for the consoles.

  • I just want there to be a ViDoc of our developers telling us how the game will run so I can get a monitor that correlates.

  • Neither console will run AAA games at 4k60 consistently. 1080 or 1440 maybe reaches higher frames. They can claim all they want. Furthermore, going beyond 60 frames for most console gamers is pointless due to HDTVs not being capable of displaying said frames.

  • I hope that a Res/frame rate adjuster can come in future updates if they don't ship with the consoles to where you can get more frames at the expense of graphics and vice versa. High res means little in competitive shooters; all about fps/fresh times. And if Im playing a single player game or a stylish game in general that's laxed, I'll give up some frames for visuals. The consoles are an upgrade from their 8th gen counter parts in their own right and could probably out before an Ultra budget rig, but the build I'm coming up with will surpass the consoles, running me at ~$1300. Deciding on waiting for AMD's new graphic cards/ RTX 3070. Or I may just settlt a GTX 1660 Super for the meantime and be at $700

  • I’m not sure about PS’s but XBox has VRR and fidelity options built in. How/if the game developers integrate said options into their games, no clue. This early I would guess mostly just upscaling. The big Q imho is, will the player bases be even more fragmented because of hardware limitations
