So I'm not sure if people are aware but I personally have a fondness for the Scorn. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but they have a very special place in my heart
A lot of people think that the Scorn are a one and done faction, dead and gone in the same DLC they were introduced in. I'd like to argue against that here and now
We know for a fact that Scorn are revived fallen, we also know a Scorn combatant can be revived multiple times thanks to information we have on screebs. So if they can come back, the Barons can as well right? Some may say yes, while others may reasonably say now.
Here's a list of each Baron, their current status, and if anything is preventing them from coming back
Fanatic: alive. Proven by the hollowed lair strike and outliers lore card
Machinist: alive. Proven by the heroic ether harvest public event, and the renaming to "reanimated machinest"
Rifleman: unknown. Some say the Hive ate his body after we killed him, however until further confirmation in the lore he's fully able to be revived
Mindbender: dead. Due to being killed in his throne world he is unable to be revived, both thanks to his soul now being destroyed and his body being unrecoverable
Trickster: unknown. Unlike the rifleman potentially being eaten, the tricksters body remains intact and in a secure location after the events of the mission. Her lore card even suggests she may still be out there
Hangman: dead(?). The Hangman was incinerated at the end of his mission, a death animation give to non of the other Barons but him. This a point of contention because if he's actually dead then why don't we try the same technique on Fikrul? And if he ISN'T dead then how can he be revived from a pile of ash?
Mad bomber: unknown. Some have suggested that his body blew up after we killed him, but similar to the rifleman we shouldn't come to this conclusion without further lore confirmation. It would fit his character, I'll give you that though
Rider: unknown. When killed her body falls in the acid covered floor of the arena, possibly suggesting that much like the Hangman she was disintegrated over a few hours. However during the mission no other scorn combatant takes damage from standing in the acid, perhaps this is just a gameplay mechanic though
And that about does it
Bungie... Please, please bring them back I'm begging you. And give me scorn champions while you're at it. That will be all
SCORN ARE ETERNAL
1 Reply2 things: 1: If someone doesn't know you like scorn they haven't looked at the forum. 2: NO SCORN CHAMPIONS. I hate the idea of champions already, and I don't want to ruin another race with them.

3 RepliesI'm no expert, but it doesn't seem in the trickster's nature to just die that easily, but that's probably just because I want her back
-
1 ReplyOnly way you'll make me care about them is a full-blown Scorn raid.

6 RepliesWouldn't mind fikrul coming back as a raid.. And the bosses prior to him would be a few of the barons With the info youve provided it could be done. Although I hate the scorn. Stupid little idiots with dinner plates for shields block everything lmao (I know just shoot them in the foot) & the damn chieftains that have better arms than 95% of the QBs in the NFL throwing hail marys 😂

15 RepliesI think other than the Fanatic, when the barons are possibly revived, they lose more of their self-awareness? Sentience? Which means they will degrade and not be like their original selves. Fanatic's dialogue could hint towards this in the strike since he refers to the barons as being dead but his other scorn as temporarily dead. So because he cares about them he won't twist them anymore by bringing them back.

1 ReplyI want to imagine that the Hangman is perma-dead. The Scorn have shown no signs of being brought back from complete disintegration or being mutiliated beyond repair (otherwise Screebs could continually be brought back too which we know they can't). As for why we haven't done it to Fikrul, who's to say we haven't? I imagine that it would've been one of the first things we do to him, though I don't think any lore has mentioned that yet. We aren't even sure how his self-revival process works. As far as we know, he's the only legitimate "dark Risen" that can be revived even if completely disintegrated; if that's the case though, I'm curious to if he has a conduit to channel his powers (presumably his staff but that could simply be a weapon rather that a "ghost"). We need to get more information on his revival powers nonetheless though, because Forsaken really dropped the ball with the Scorn after the main campaign.

2 RepliesI honestly wouldn't mind a Scorn Raid. The aesthetic of the Tangled Shore with the rusted dilapidated buildings, plus the nature of the Tangled Shore would allow for platforming or even a Sparrow section. Each encounter could be a new Baron, ones who raised up after the original barons where killed. For example, Thaviks The Depraved could be resurrected as Thaviks The Reborn. As well as one encounter being a Scorn Walker where you have to dismantle the legs with mechanics to open the back and start the DPS phase. Alternatively, we could break back into the Prison Of Elders where the Warden's Servitor kept the deadliest of Scorn Barons locked up to use on Guardians, but was destroyed before he got to use it. We have to go in and destroy it. Either a Tangled Shore or Prison Of Elders Raid would be awesome in my opinion. Obviously I've just spit-balled a very rough idea here.

11 Replies<I'm so angry Bungie did nothing about the Fanatic storyline. At this point I don't care how it gets resolved, throw him into a cryopod and jettison it into the Sun for all I care. Do something dammit!>

7 RepliesI’m sorry Skybro, but the Scorn are a dead faction.

1 ReplyIf you do heroic either rituals on the tangled shore one of them (except fanatic) will appear. Its seems to be random on which one will appear.

3 Repliesbut zombies are boring. Gimmie some plant monsters!

7 RepliesDo a favor for me, yeah? Go visit the Tangled Shores, nice place to relax, plenty of beach, and the ocean of space. Go on: drop by. And while you're there, how about you visit the former locations of the Rifleman and the Mad Bomber? For nostalgic purposes of recreation of course. Hang around for about 30mins, then tell me if you see anyone... familiar.
