So when are we going to start talking about the over saturated use of special weapons in pvp? I made a recent post about this and a proposed solution, however too many people seem content to not address this issue.

5 RepliesI get killed by Gnawing Hunger and other autos a lot more than any special weapon.

The problem is that the same ammo economy is being applied for Snipers-Shotguns-Fusions. Snipers work fine, even if you kill, you have to rotate and move to grab ammo, so players don’t camp forever and have to use different weapons. But with Shotguns and Fusions... you kill and instantly get more ammo. You don’t need to switch weapons at all. You never run out of ammo lol.

6 RepliesDestiny has ALWAYS had a problem with OHK weapons being prominant in PvP. Did you ever play D2 vanilla? The Power Weapons slot was bloated by anything that could OHK. It was a friggin mess. Even then players complained that shotguns, fusions and sniper rifles could only be used by accessing the Power Ammo spot on the wall. One player could use it. One. Now why am I bringing this up? Because of topics like these. Yes, we get it; you hate being shotgunned, vooped and domed. But if ya'all keep complaining SOMETHING will happen. Something bad. Then we'll be back to fighting over boxes for ammo.

Shotgun sees green brick - oh yeah, +3 ammo. Trace Rifle sees green brick, oh yeah, +26 ammo. Something feels wrong here.

Of course many people don't want to address that. Too many people would actually need to learn how to shoot instead of using OHK special weapons. They like their easy Mode so don't dream about...😂

This is what we need, more people talking about it.

I rarely die by a primary in PvP. The economy could use some slight tweaking.

Let's not forget the ammo economy on initial release of D2.

My take is going back to special crates on the map and retaining ammo on death. One in the chamber with a shotgun is too much, scavenger makes it worse. Going back to crates allows control based on availability rather than shafting people's retention of ammo, where D1 ended and what led to a sidearm meta.
