Why I'm not completely opposed to weapon retirement

Weapon retirement means no more meta squatting, which means less resources spent on tweaking the meta, which (theoretically) means more resources spent on things that should have higher priority, like releasing new story content and expanding existing content with new events and activities... and that stuff is why anyone grinds for weapons in the first place, is it not? Otherwise, you're grinding just to have these weapons in your inventory. Of course, if we don't see a faster delivery rate on new content after weapon retirement is released, then there's no point in continuing to support the game after that. What players should do now is pressure Bungie to make sure they deliver on their promises of accelerating the release of new content.
