Another post about weapon retirement

A question I had regarding this change is whether or not that timer of 9-15 months or whatever arbitrary limit Bungie will set starts when that change goes live or if it will apply retroactively to when the gun came out. Say you like your Trust hand cannon but it came out 17 months ago so is it already obsolete? What about pinnacle weapons like Not Forgotten? This change will make those quests pointless. Eh who cares, there’s not going to be a Y4 anyway. That’s never happened before. We’ll get D3 in September

  • No one knows how it's going to work, it could be 15 months from when you had it drop. It might be only 10 power levels under max after it happening, meaning you'd be fine to carry on using it. Until Bungie actually lay out exactly how it works, all this madness is entirely pointless.

  • [considering they said, before shadowkeep launched, something like “five more years of D2,” there will be a Y4 and even a Y5 & Y6.]
