Just read the post in TWAB about the upcoming nerfs to High Impacts. I’m honestly really salty right now. Does Bungie hate fun? I’ve been using Fusions since TTK in D1 cause I was late to the game and everyone had already found their power in shotguns or snipers, so I put in the time, and became a good fusion player.
I’ve been running a Wizened Rebuke since before random rolls even came back. People cried when more people started FINALLY expanding their loadouts after THREE YEARS of people not using fusions, and now they’re getting destroyed after only a few months of being used at a decent clip...WELL under other top weapons in crucible, mind you.
Since the mod system came out I’ve spent countless hours building really strong loadouts around fusions and rockets (solar cause who knows why?), and WHY do I like this? Cause it’s FUN. Now in one fell swoop they’re gonna destroy them. Fun. Tons.
I’m sorry people were mad they couldn’t ALWAYS blindly rush with their shotgun and cap people from unreal ranges, or HC spam op archetypes. You get your wish.
Do people not realize it took ACTUAL planning to use fusions with any kind of consistency? It’s active for maybe 2 seconds. It took map awareness, positioning, predicting player movement, etc.
Honestly I don’t even care that much about the PVP nerf cause I barely play that anymore, but the trashing of my time in PVE is really, really frustrating, and all to make some angry kid posting online about dying once to it in crucible feel good about themselves. They’ll just find something else to complain about next season. And so it goes. Unto eternity. It’s destiny.
TLDR: I’m salty. RIP Fusions. Gone too soon. Also, if you’re gonna move Backup Plan away, then AT LEAST bring back Hot Swap from D1 since we’re changing things back apparently.

Edited by Malygos: 2/23/2020 9:11:30 AMDreambreaker with high impact reserves is still pretty damn good it's not high impact so it shouldn't be touched and with the right roll you can get a 620 charge time then lower it with a charge mw with it hits at the same impact as a 720

1 ReplyAll because ONE FR makes scrubs salty. Even with how good Erentil is, Fusion usage has never been close to shotguns. Makes no sense.
-
2 RepliesJust use a precision frame . They only do 1 dmg less per bolt.
-
2 RepliesFirmly planted still exists. If you’re a good fusion player it won’t matter. They nerfed the wrong perk...;)
-
1 Replyi feel you, OP i use HIF a lot also in PvE and don't consider them op at all. but then you don't like it? don't play it problem solved !! ( solved for me, since i'm coming into D2 very little these days as i transition to other games, which have less annoying end games, btw)

1 ReplyAnyone who used the term 'fam' is not to be taken seriously..

I’m a fusion main—this nerf will do absolutely nothing to fusions except get rid of the crutches like mapping Erentil and Back-up plan. For other archetypes, the change to accuracy is a buff. And High Impact Frames, you’ll still be able to use it as a Fusion rifle, just no longer as a sniper or a shotgun with 30m consistent range. Seems fine to me.

Just awaiting the days when Shotguns can no longer do crit damage in both PvE and PvP, 'cause that actually happened.
-
3 RepliesYup, while shotguns are lookingly relatively untouched and most definitely going to skyrocket in usage.

6 RepliesEdited by Eucadia: 2/21/2020 3:04:52 PMI didn't really understand if those nerfs were going to be applied to all Fusions or just High Impact ones, since Bungie likes to play with the words "archetype" and "sub-archetype". That being said, unfortunately the toxic streamers have built this notion that "Fusions take 0 skill to use", while "Shotguns and Snipers do take skill"... their army of fanboys don't even think for themselves anymore, so they just copy w/e their master says and spam it everywhere. That's why Fusion users generally get bagged + shit-talked 24/7. Yesterday I was using Telesto for fun, and a Sniper tryhard invited me to his chat to talk shit because he had a problem with it lmao... even though it already got nerfed long ago, and it isn't even a high-impact fusion.
-
7 RepliesHow does this make fusions worse? I'm confused. There wasn't any mention of a damage reduction or anything like that.
-
It will go full circle. Fusion users will go to shotguns and people will cry for a shotgun nerf.

Shut down players who can’t stop rushing or standing still spamming their primaries.

2 RepliesYep, given rapid fire snipers are toned down and fusions are as well - regular crucible will see a “rise of a planet of apes” for next season.

4 RepliesThis day to nerf fusions has been coming and I’m anxious to see how it really ends up. Saw the SG revisit too which is fair enough. But oh man over did it with the sniper nerf
