Gonna have to wait until this year's Solstice event for actual good Solstice armor.
I mean, I get it. I also want my badass looking gear to actually be badass.
I also know Bungie wants to have a continued interest in events and have a reason for players to participate in those events. Expect better Solstice gear later this year.

Do you honestly expect that this coming Solstice armor will be good? It could just be only relevant for a month again just like 2019's was. I agree with @DOOM3TERisBS. They hyped the event up and made us grind to get it (as well as for a second armor glow at 5K Bright Dust) only to be able to wear it proudly for a month. But yeah, the 2019 armor is badass, and I want to look badass with the stats on par with other pinnacle gear post-Shadowkeep. And sure, I could just wear the gear now, but why would I handicap myself stat-wise when I've got Iron Banner armor that's got 70+ points on some pieces? Making them into ornaments cannot possibly break the game.

And making them into ornaments would cause players to not grind for them when Solstice rolls around this year.

Okay, then just boost the stats to bring them in par with other pinnacle gear like I said in my original post. Either way works. The only reason for suggesting the 2019 version to be ornaments is because people that grinded for the gear already have it, and people want to wear it for the look more than anything. I never suggested making the upcoming Solstice armor ornament only.
