Bungie is refusing to refund my silver after the Duplicate drop engrams debacle all the way back from Revelry.

Ive been trying to get in touch with Bungie since then and today i received my first response from them saying they don't plan on doing anything about my negative silver balance. Im attaching my correspondence with them. And this is over $30. And I didn't lie about how much has been spent in the Bungie Store or for charities they have ran. Inisitally I planned on literally mailing them a letter, but replied to an email first. Your request (1791) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email. Destiny Player Support (Bungie) Sep 19, 3:30 PM PDT Hello again. Unfortunately, there is no way to resolve this issue except to repay the outstanding Silver balance that you have on your account. MDCasino Sep 19, 3:27 PM PDT Its been a week now. Still waiting for a response. Please message me back. MDCasino Sep 18, 6:10 PM PDT This is a follow-up to your previous request #1620 "PLEASE GO TO THIS LINK FOR ..." I replied. Can someone please get back to me. To add additional comments, reply to this email. MDCasino Sep 12, 11:37 AM PDT To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to you in regard to an in-game silver purchase for Destiny 2 on around May 1st for $30.00. This was for the Revelry event. I was looking to finish getting the items that i didn't have for the collection. Unfortunately, I was receiving duplicates on multiple cosmetic items regardless of what character i was turning these engrams in on. I was receiving back to back of the same items, so the knockout system was obviously not working as advertised and nor was the solution that your company presented. After this happened. I sent a ticket to your team asking them to alleviate the issue or issue a refund and made a forum post to which i was told just open them on a different character which wasnt gonna help. I was unable to follow up with the support ticket. They just told me the problem would be handled later on. I waited for a solution and nothing was happening. I contacted sony and explained the whole situation. They agreed to refund my money. After the event was over my Silver balance was adjusted for the chargeback and my Silver balanced has remained negative since. I have tried to contact you using Support tickets 3 times, but there was not enough space to type in the whole situation, and i just asked that I be contacted. All 3 times I was told that charging back silver would result in a negative balance, and all 3 times I was unable to respond back to receive further help. I am writing this letter so someone can restore my silver balance to 0 so i can make purchases again. I refuse to pay $30.00 to correct the balance when I received nothing new. This seems to be the only way to get in contact with someone. I wish to have this restored before shadowkeep. The first tickets I wrote all had video proof of what was happening. I included numerous videos. Here are the links. https://youtu.be/J4nLHcsf96g https://youtu.be/o28E1ccJGNU https://youtu.be/P4PEva7QVRE My PSN is MDCasino and my Bungie Account is the same. I have spent thousnds in the Bungie store and donating to your charity events. Please email me at XXXXXXXXXXXX or call me at XXXXXXXXX if you need any other information. Thank You Michael XXXXXXXXX

  • Kinda funny that guy with casino in their name complainin about not getting wat the want from essentially a slot machine XD. U should've did wat I did and held on the the engrams until reset then open them to not get duplicates.

  • I bet if someone tried a chargeback at a casino they’d have a lot more than a negative silver balance to worry about. Bungie said the issue would be fixed. You opted not to wait and decided to seek a charge back, which you received. You need to accept the consequences.

Bungie hasn't actually finished attempting to fix the issue with the Revelry engrams. Another fix is set to go out late October. I understand how frustrating it is to receive duplicates of items from engrams, especially when you've actually paid real money for them. However, Bungie does explicitly state in their Silver Purchasing Guide that chargebacks can result in a negative Silver balance.
Players that receive Silver refunds, chargebacks, or have their payments denied by the platform marketplaces may see their Silver balance adjusted in Destiny 2. Bungie does not provide Silver refunds or transfers for any Destiny release. Players that receive platform refunds or chargebacks of Silver they HAVE SPENT in-game will see a negative Silver balance on their account. IMPORTANT: Players found to be abusing Silver refunds or chargebacks may be temporarily restricted or permanently banned.
I'm sure Bungie also has some fine print elsewhere that covers them on this issue, as well. In your post, you state that you waited for them to fix the issue, but not how long you waited before contacting Sony. For all we know you could have waited all of five minutes before going to Sony for a refund. Bungie has continued to issue fixes for the issue regarding the Jubilant Engrams, with their latest fix coming out in late October.
Since both the May 8 fix and Update 2.2.0, we have monitored player responses to this issue with the Jubilant Engram and the two fixes we have deployed. In particular, we have closely monitored players reporting that they opened the original May 8 fix on the wrong characters, which reduced the effectiveness of the fix. Additionally, we have been investigating responses from players who believe the original bug affected their accounts but did not receive either of the deployed fixes. To address these two populations of players, we are deploying a third and final fix for this issue. Once deployed, the fix will be applied to all players who opened enough Jubilant Engrams that they could have potentially entered the bugged state. The fix will allow qualified players to gain access to all of the remaining items from the Jubilant Engram that they have not yet unlocked on their account. Due to our deployment timelines, we are currently targeting this fix to go live in late October 2019.
I understand how frustrating it would be to have to wait for a fix coming in October, but I honestly have to side with Bungie on this one. You bought Silver, spent it on a random loot mechanic, and then when you didn't get what you wanted you asked Sony to take back the money from Bungie. In an abstract way, you stole $30 worth of Engrams and their loot from Bungie. Looking at this from a player's perspective; it'd be nice if Bungie compromised and reduced the negative balance by half. The only way I see you getting the negative balance removed (at this point after having been rejected by Bungie) would be to take legal action, but that would be incredibly difficult. If I was a juror on a case like this; considering all the evidence you have provided versus what information Bungie has on Silver purchases and their Revelry fixes, I would be inclined to side with Bungie. Honestly, I hope you get a response from Bungie. If they're willing to compromise that will be nice, but if not then I hope you understand why they denied your request.

  • So you charged back the non-refundable silver purchase and are upset that they are not allowing it?
