Warlock melee speed is unacceptable at this point.

It makes no sense to be slower and it severely crippled the class in pvp. The warlock melee abilities aren’t particularly great, why should they have to slowest melee with the same range? Edit: warlocks do not have a one shot melee. Here’s your video proof https://m.imgur.com/gallery/Oru3IDs

    • Also they need to make the animation of laying a rift much faster. Right now it especially sucks in pvp, it's not like the rift gives you full health right away anyways. Both are slow.

        • D2 isnt supposed to be one big game of patty cake. If you have to melee twice, you made a mistake somewhere and you're being punished for it. Hunters and titans get destroyed too when they rely only on melee. It isnt common for two players to just punch each other if they have any clue what they're doing. Melees are supposed to be a quick finish if you've already put in enough damage in close quarters. The idea that the slower melee recovery is a massive disadvantage is making a mountain out of a mole hill. Learn to use melees correctly and there is no problem. Take your lumps when you make a mistake, don't blame the game, especially if you know why you're losing. Fix the way you play and you'll wipe the floor with anyone who tries to double melee you.

            • Everyone has a one-shot melee. Everyone, that is, except "you." Doesn't matter who "you" are, what what class "you" use. Everyone. Absolu--blam!-ing-lutely EVERYONE "you" fight in PvP will kill "you" with a single melee. Doesn't matter how much damage you've done to them before you finally decide to melee them. Doesn't matter if they were in their menu and didn't fire a single shot at you first. They will kill you with a single strike. But "you" will need no less than three.

                @Roland I haven't commented on these forums in a very long time, and I logged in specifically to chime in on this topic and give my two cents on how're you're right, and anybody that disagrees with the [b]factual[/b] statement this thread portrays needs to log in and do a simple comparison between classes. There is a literal 0.4 second delay between a Warlocks melee compared to a Titans/Hunters, plain and simple. Takes literally a minute to do a comparison between 10 melee attacks. Funnily enough, Warlock melee's are [i][b]extremely[/b][/i] inconsistent with hit detection and often times 'whiff' past a player/npc despite the melee lunge. As it has [i][b]already been said[/b][/i] as well, Warlocks do [u]not[/u] have better ranged melee attacks anymore compared to Hunters/Titans; Anybody that has half a brain-stem and... you know, actually plays the game regularly would know that Bungie nerfed Warlock melee range back in Year 1 of Destiny 2 to be in line with Titans/Hunters. The only Warlock melee that has a higher reach, is Stormcaller's Classes, and that's a [u][b]melee ability[/b][/u] that we literally have to wait over a minute each time to use [b]once[/b] with no extra damage applied behind it, and lightning ball is literally slower than a throwing knife/hammer. Also, after checking back on this thread multiple times, can people use the most minimalist parts of their brain and understand that Handheld Supernova is [b]not[/b] a melee attack, but a grenade ability? Keep on it, Roland; I don't log in to post often anymore due to the ever-growing amount of toxicity and ignorance despite being on this website for over 11-Years, but the amount of blind hunters and thick-skulled titans on this post is overwhelming, so with this, I bid a farewell for probably atleast another couple months.               • Um, well I dunno how they do it then because I've been one shot melee'd by warlocks numerous times. From hella far range.

                      We as a community (most of us) know it's broken and needs to be fixed. The ball is and has been in Bungie's court and they don't know what to do with it.

                      • This post is extremely accurate. Although equipping ophidian aspects add range and a little hit detection it seems. Personally done this and it helps. -blam!- bungie

                      • It makes sense because a lot of the mechanics come straight from D1. Warlocks had the slowest melee speed but the longest range. In D2 they balanced all the melee ranges so every class were identical but “forgot” to change the speed at the same time. It 100% should be fixed, Titans melee slower then Hunters too btw it just the Warlocks are even slower then them

                      • How anyone can justify this i'll never know. Thanks for providing the proof. The sad thing is that Bungie will actually probably expect us Warlocks to be grateful if they ever change this obvious imbalance that we have been asking for for literally years now.

                        • Im pretty sure a warlock melee in general is special as unlike the other melee animations for the other classes it keeps your character a good distance away as the animation send the damage out as a wave instead of actual contact and I’m also pretty sure the base range is a tad longer then the others. I could just be crazy i have not actually tested this thoroughly but when playing a warlock and using the basic melee attack i feel it has a longer range.

                        • This is true but I also find Warlock melee ‘snaps’ to people better. Whenever I play my hunter after I’ll always swing at the air for a few matches until I readjust.
